Anyone ever seen an unhappy long snapper before?

If he's looking for more playing time, I think the number of special teams plays is on target for previous seasons...

He's not showing up as an option to insert into the starting lineup or anything, so I'm not sure what I can do to give him more playing time... He's signed for another season, so I'm curious just how angry he'll get before the end of his contract.

Do unhappy players have any sort of negative effect on the team? The only thing I'm finding in the help file is they're less likely to sign a new contract... If that's the only consequence of him being unhappy, I'll just roll with him! But if there's a possibility of negative consequences on team chemistry, perhaps I'll replace him...

Thanks in advance for any opinions/advice!

I wouldn't sweat it.

That said, why did you sit him for 7 games? Was he injured? If not, he's likely mad because he sat for 7 games.

Pfft ... he's unhappy because he's playing for the Vikings. So would anybody. ;)

I'd guess this was in the middle of that season.

My guess would be that your starting center is worse overall than 21/xx or you're starting a G or T at C. I can't deny that I think the 'happiness' and illogical selection of players to field on special teams plays are related, but in the case of a long snapper, one of the above could be the best explanation.

Yep, middle of the season.

Listen, he had no problem signing with us in 2024, I doubt he wakes up in the middle of the 2027 season and realizes where he's at. But maybe. :)

I hadn't thought of that, but that must be it. Looking for more playing time at C. I know I've seen long snappers subbed in for centers in pre-season games (and giving up sacks and missing key run blocks), so I've gotten in the habit of making sure to have two active centers for pre-season games...

OK, I just tried to change his position, and here's what I get:

No option to change his position to C -- just an option to change his position to TE. He wants to become part of the high-powered Vikings aerial attack!

I like how it says "This player may be a bit short for success at his new position." The guy's last name is Small... Poor Leon. That's gotta hurt.

Oy, totally misconstrued the years. Middle of the season, unhappy long snapper? Sounds like a bug. Cut the guy loose! F- him.

That's gotta hurt.He can't switch to C, because he already is a C (all long snappers are C or TE in disguise). Hence my suggestion that the player thinks he's a better C than the guy you have starting. The same could apply if he's TE disguised as LS and is a 'better' TE than what you have hanging around. ;)
It's a long shot guess, but that's something I think is what could cause this.
