RFAs Year 3 undrafted

So I can not remember...if I have a player that I did not draft then do I need to resign them in years 2 and 3 in order to keep them or will they be RFAs when their contract runs out...

Players that are unsigned going into their 2nd, 3rd or 4th season will always be a RFA in the next free agency period.
