As I work on completeing a 1970 universe with fictional players I had to determine where to start from with the CAP and salaries. With the ability to somewhat recreate historical NFL universes I started looking a CAP settings that would immulate that part of history and at the same time aid in developing these universe files. These numbers are only used for the intial creation of that years universe. To that end I have worked the file shown below. Sorry for the size. Ok, so what is it.
- Actual NFL CAP is shown from 1994-2023.
- Fictional CAP is shown from 1993-1970. I leaned on the average of the actual and using an extremely detailed scientific method I determined a simulated CAP for this period. I rolled a 6 sided Die to represent a percentage increase and regressed the CAP from that.
- Using this I identified the FOF9 settings for the CAP and salaries. The only actual numbers I started with are the 1970 min (9) and veteran (10) salaries. Everything else is a, I think, reasonable guess. I used the 1970 salaries as the base and from 1971-2023 just increased them by the applied and actual CAP percentage increases.
Anyway, looking for feedback to see if this is functional, needs work or a waste of time.
