Is there a way to create the old format of NFL alignment while keeping the current real players on the real teams?

I'd think it would be relatively easy to do with a little manipulation of the right files in \default_data. (Probably need to copy/rename the player files, I'm guessing.) Read through the .txt files in that directory and it should be fairly clear how to pull it off.

You would also have to build a new schedule file to complete it.

I'm kind of confused by the ask. To me old format/alignment sounds like less than 8 divisions and in that case there isn't a schedule for 32 teams and 6 divisions.

I assume the # of playoff teams is tied to the number of divisions and isn't actually customizable. Is that the case?

If I want to play the old 16 game schedule and 6 playoff teams in each conference I don’t have the option of using the real players on their current teams.

Unless I’m missing something, which is totally possible, I’m an old fart

See my response in post #2. You need to customize/edit files to do this. It’s easy to play that configuration with fictional players, but if you want to play a 2019 schedule with 2023 players, it’s custom.

32/6/16? I only see a 31/6/16.the second number is the number of divisions. It’s 32_8_16. Trust me. I have started like 10 universes with that setup and fictional players and I haven’t had to do anything with scheduling.

Totally my bad, I read the request as divisins and not playoff teams. Old brain not registering like it used too.
