how do you sign free agents during free agency?

After I make an offer to a free agent and click on next day it's really hard to track if I got the free agent or not or if I can counter offer or anything. No negotiations or messages or anything. Rather sad. Anyone care to tell me how they go about signing players during either the early or late state free agency period?

I agree it can be clearer. But if you to the Free Agency Overview, it shows who signed each week.

It will also show up in the Current News section of the Management Overview, but it disappears after you sim ahead. So basically, that's where I am when I'm walking through FA.

Any yet another location to look... There should be a small exclamation mark icon that appear in the upper right of the screen on the day that free agent signs. It also pops up on the same day if the free agent rejects your offer.
