FoF9 potential bug with Signing Bonus?

Hey I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug, but when trading for a player, the bonus money in their contract gets lost. For example I traded for a veteran on a huge contract and the signing bonus of $23 million over 3 years becomes $0 once they join my team. This happens with every player that gets traded in my universe.

I've traced this in finances. It seems the money does not get lost but rather it sticks as dead money for the original club. Is this legit and how is it supposed to work?
