A couple more minor bugs - one of which irritated the living daylights out of me :eek:

For info playing 4.0.5 version.

I am just starting season 2005-2006, when I noticed these.

Valencia bought a player from Man City for some cash plus Quentin Fortune in part exchange - no problem so far. Q.Fortune went to Man city as expected and the other player went to Valencia
A couple of weeks later Valencia purchased a player from Betis for some cash plus Quentin Fortune in part exchange.

This seemed strange and I only really noticed because I can't stand Q.Fortune so I tend to pick up his name in the news items.
Initially I thought maybe Man City had sold Fortune back to Valencia and I hadn't noticed the news item or hadn't been informed, but I checked his history, and he had been p/x to Man City and then p/x to Betis without ever having gone back to Valencia.
So Man City got ripped off and Valencia part x'd the same player to two different clubs and he ended up at Betis (Valencia may p/x him again at a later date to a different club and rip off Betis as well !!). All the clubs involved were computer managed.
This may have happend before with other players and I either never noticed or its wasn't big enough news for me to be informed.
So basically the problem is a club p/x 'd the same player to two different clubs successfully.

Now the one that really irritated me ;)

Again start of 05/6 season, I am trying to clear my squad of unwanted players by offering them cheaply to other clubs.
I have offered players and received bids for them and nothing further happens - I check the player a couple of days later and he has no outstanding bids, they have just disappeared.
Some bids worked fine earlier during the off-season, but now I can't seem to get rid of players. 1 player I tried to sell had 12 bids for him that disappeared, causing me to have a sense of humour failure !!!!

I thought it might be that I am trying to get rid of them too cheaply, and the board is blocking the transfer, but if they are there is no indication this is what is happening. Or maybe, because I have already sold some players cheaply the board won't let me sell any more for a while, but again there is no indication of this.

Please advise if this is a bug or a user error (or as per one CA tech support memo - a PICNIC error - Problem In Chair Not In Computer)

I'll check these out - with regards to the second one, did you recieve any mesages about crossing a 'transfer deadline'? - if so that will be why the bids disappeared.

There are certain 'time windows' within which transfer deals can be done, if you run out of time and the window closes then all bids are off and have to be renegotiated when the next window opens.

No I didn't cross a transfer deadline, it was happening during July 2005 so the transfer window was open.

I also have a question about transfers that has always bothered me. I always get the messages saying, 'transfer deadline has passed', etc. But one thing that would be VERY useful, if possible, would be a listing of dates for transfer deadlines that we could look at ahead of time, so we know when the windows open and close.

ice4277 - Sounds reasonable, I'll try and remember to include this in the next version of the game (please note, this doesn't mean 'patch' - I can't add text into patches because of translation restrictions).
