Good for him. Just heard it on PTI.

Thoughts?

Rather insignificant to me. He will hold a clip board for a few years, then in a few years he will sign on with a poor team and compete for the starting job for a year or two before retiring.

He's the heir to Brett Favre.

Untill he shows some potential it really is insignificant, good for GB if the change of scenery and the help of Farve turns him into something, but if he just stays a bust it's not a big deal.

I think at this point everyones expectations for him are very low, apparently even his own from what I've read, which is half his problem.

Yes indeedy, unless Crouch agrees to stay on as a return man/wideout. Given what happened last year, that seems unlikely.

This signing certainly makes for an interesting backup quarterback controversy. Doug Pederson is the old guy, a friend of Favre's who also knows the offense well. Craig Nall was last year's draftee who lit up NFL Europe this offseason and was considered a serious challenger to the Pederson's backup spot. And now Smith? Who goes?

The person I feel the worst for is Zak Kustok. The poor slob has no chance at all.
