Key West

I am heading to Key West tommorow for a week. I will only be in Key West - no other keys, and nothing in Florida.

WTF is there to do or see in Key West? Any suggestions?

You can also go down to the sunset festival each night at the end ofDuval Street. Another great place to watch is from atop of the Holiday Inn(known as the LaConcha Hotel) on Duval Street. The pool there is great too.


There are also plenty of boating trips. I'd stay away from the beaches, a that is not Key West's strong point

My wife and I went down there in Feb for a week. She had work meetings which left me time to sit at the Southern Most Hotel/Resort bar next to the ocean for about 4 hours each mid-day.

After about 3 days, I missed the northern cold. My wife agreed. We didn't bring that much money along so I couldn't talk about any of the fishing or scuba diving. I can tell you, however, that if you feel the urge to get totally shit faced every night...it is easy as hell!!! That, was something I didn't get bored with.

The place is quiet as hell compared to Minneapolis. Walking down by the southern most at night is really quiet.

For every hot chick on the beach, there is one old fat one.

Do not go to Margaritaville. Drinks are too expensive, food isn't worth it. Crabby Dick's is a good place to eat.

Irish Kevin's is a good place to drink. They have a live guitar player/comedian on the weekends. I heard he was one of the owners. Very funny, but only 1 night.

Best place to go to eat after bars close, Denny's!!! It's open all night.

Spend at least 1 night walking down duval. You will have fun seeing some of the shit going on, plus it's a nice long walk.

hmm....since I am living 20 minutes from key west for this entire summer I guess I should have seen this thread earlier.

There is plenty to do; just depends on what you would like to do? The best thing to do in key west is get really drunk on Duval Street. Plenty of fishing, boating.....lots of stuff; if you have any other questions you should PM me since I dont check the general disscussion that much (only Hattrick :))

i just got back from the keys friday.
bars- hogs breath, margaritaville, sloppy joes.
charter a boat and catch some fish. ever pulled in a 50 pounder? beware of swimming, saw a high bacteria level sign, that means poop in the water. spend the money and see fort jefferson.
eat- there is a place by the marina(front street?) that has live music and was tasty.
