My wife had the baby last night a week ahead of the scheduled C-section. Simon Thomas Howard Jenkins weighs in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and is 18 1/2 inches long. Mom and baby are doing fine.

Thought you guys might like the update.

Great! Congratulations to you, your wife and little Thomas.

I missed the conclusion of the cutting thread. What was the decision?

Premature, just like his old man! At least that's what his wife says.

GD

Your son has the same birthday as myself, Lou Gehrig, & Moe from the 3 stooges. That can only be good.

I tried to make up a joke about GrantDawg's "little Thomas", but Sabotai got ahead with his line... :)

Congratulations!

Congrats GD. I'm not sure if you have other kids, but get ready for some really, really nasty diapers to change. The first week or so they poop nothing but yellow goo... :)

Were you there for the "delivery"? Nothing compares to laying eyes on your progeny for the first time. The 2 most memorable experiences of my life. Soon to be 3...

Thanks for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Yes, it was a C-section and I was in the OR. This is our second, and the first was born through C too, but this time I stood up and watched. Ick! Yet wonderfull.

Momma and baby are still in the hospital, and I'm home to change close to take the seven year old to the Harry Potter party and then spend my first night in my own bed (yeah!).

Mom is doing fine, but son has just been diagnosed with Juandice. It came on him today. They have him under the blue light now (no, not at Kmart). Hopefully they both will come home tommorow, but there is a possibility that they will release my wife tommorow and not the baby. :( If that happens I'll go from sleeping on a hard as rock bed in my wifes room to sharing a hard as rock sofa in the waiting room.

Me, too. I'll have some soon. The baby came home with a billilight, but so far we have had little success getting him in it. That is why I am sitting here at 2:03 am, typing with one hand (because the baby is in the other you perv!). He is only sleeping tonight if I walk him. He does look better. I have to take him back to the hospital in the morning to check his levels.
