Hey man, are you the same VPI97 from Atlanta, Georgia? ;)
I assume so. I don't know where you originally posted this, but it is making its way around the different college message boards with high praise. I have seen it re-posted on 4 boards already!

When news of possible ACC expansion broke, VT sent out a group to beg the ACC to invite the Hokies. When told that VT was not wanted, VT Pres resolved to fight expansion....
-- VT fans immediately called for the heads of Miami, Syracuse, Boston College, and John Swofford (ACC Commish). Those entities were demonized for trying to leave the Big East and causing the loss of a BCS bid for VT, WVU & Pitt.
When it looked like VT was going to be left out, VT Pres stated that VT wouldn't accept an ACC bid, that VT was committed to the preservation of the Big East, and he agreed to enter into a shaky lawsuit against those teams that had negotiations with the ACC, as well as the ACC themselves. VT also went to the VA Governor in order to blackmail UVA into becoming a voting puppet of VT. The lawsuit was based on the claim that since Miami Pres Shalala stated 18 months ago that Miami would not leave the Big East, Miami had a fiduciary responsibility to thost schools who had spent money for facility improvements based on the assumption that Miami was staying in the Big East.
-- VT fans immediately called for the head of Donna Shalala because since she said 18 months ago that Miami wouldn't leave the Big East, that meant she was a liar for thinking about going to the ACC.
Although lawsuit appeared flimsy at best, the case may have had some strength due to the fact that it could be tried in CT state courts due to the case's duplicity of residence (or something like that). Basically, a case doesn't go to federal court if a plaintiff and defendant reside in the same state...plaintiff = VT, defendant = UVA. Also, the VA Governor influenced UVA enough to get them to speak out enough against SU & BC (and for VT), thus making those two look very shaky as expansion candidates and apparently making a three team expansion (UM, SU, BC) impossible.
-- VT fans immediately state that they're glad the ACC is getting screwed over and that the ACC and Miami deserve each other for being deceitful. VT fans also state that BC and Cuse are still liars and cheats for trying to destroy the Big East conference.
Virginia Tech appeared in the expansion mix due to the fact that the ACC could get the lawsuit to go to federal courts (and away from the biased CT courts) if VT dropped out of the lawsuit. Word comes out that GT President has said that VT would be considered a candidate (along with a weakened SU & BC) for a 4 team expansion package, as long as VT drops out of lawsuit.
-- VT fans immediately rejoice over the fact that the Hokies now appear in the mix for ACC expansion. While VT fans still show dislike for Shalala due to her word not lasting longer than 18 months, very few seem to have a problem with VT Pres Steger only waiting a couple of weeks before breaking the exact same promise.
ACC comes to the decision to invite only VT and Miami. (Of course, this was after their plan of SU, BC, UM failed...and their plan of SU, BC, UM, VT failed...and their plan of UM only failed...and probably after some plan including every team in the nation but VT failed)
-- VT fans immediately get on their hands and knees in order to pray because their "50 year dream" will be answered. While VT fans still show dislike for Syracuse and Boston College for considering to leave the Big East, very few seem to have a problem with the fact that if VT left the remaining schools would lose their BCS bid.
Without any hesitation, VT President gets out of the lawsuit and accepts bid. No word if this was before or after he got off his knees and wiped his mouth. Miami states that they're not sure they feel like going to the ACC with VT and without SU and BC. They'll get back to us later.
