On Friday July 4th, the greatest music festival I shall ever see grace this Earth will begin, for I am talking about Hellfest 2003, coming to you all from Syracuse, New York.

110 bands for 55 bucks. Can't beat that. Two bottles of water for 3 bucks, can't beat that at an event like this. The hardon I get thinking of this show.. Already beat that.

So, this shall prove to be a great weekend of stories and blood and what not, so why not everyone else (if anyone actually reads this) post some concert stories to further the mood.

Sorry, but I needed some place to glow.

Wow, 110 bands and I have not heard of any of them. I like the fact that it is a dry event.

www.hellfest.com

it's 110 hardcore bands basically, some punk tossed in there.

It is costing me quite a bit more then 55 bucks though, with the drive to Syracuse, and 4 nights in a hotel, but it's worth it if you ask me.

I have only heard of maybe 3 of those bands.

Sounds like you are going to have a great time though. Have fun!

Just went to a concert this Sunday @ Jillian's in Covington, Kentucky. Brand New, Senses Fail, and two other bands which I didn't like.

Isn't there an age limit at Jillian's?

Not that I'm aware of, a ton of people from my highschool were there.

OK. I was just wondering. I don't go down there very often. My clubbing days are long gone and if I really want to play games, it's at Dave and Busters.

Yes, your own personal hellfest.

Sorry, I couldn't pass that up.

Ksyrup: I am seeing Porcupine Tree July 23rd with Opeth.

AMAZING IT SHALL BE!

Cool! They are actually playing Tallahassee on July 10th. I'm looking forward to it. I'm a relative newcomer to the band, but an amazing number of King's X fans are PT fans, and I am one of the many converts.

Very nice.

Are they playing with Opeth, or what?

Rumors are running rampant that the show I am going too Opeth is playing acustic, which if the case, should be a sight to see.

What are some other bands you're currently in to?

No, it appears that it will only be PT. From a quick glance at Pollstar.com, it looks like Opeth picks up on the tour a few days later.

I listen to a bunch of different stuff, mostly off-the-beaten-path hard rock, like King's X, VAST, Thought Industry, 24/7 Spyz, progressive rock/metal, like PT, Marillion, DT, Shadow Gallery, and some others, and then there's the entirely different category of power pop bands and singer/songwriters, such as Jellyfish, Fountains of Wayne, Rufus Wainwright, Ed Harcourt, Hawksley Workman,... I could go on for hours.

I stay away from straight country and rap/R&B, but otherwise I'm generally open to most music. I'll even listen to some country or rap, if it's incorporated in a different musical style. But I just can't take it straight.

Yes, in that tour, Opeth are focusing on their accoustic (mellower) material.
