View Full Version : Jim Question (Quality Free agents)
Jim, I have noticed in numberous dynasties the tendency of highly rated QB's coming up for FA and the orginial team not signing him.
Is this by design?
Thanks
PS Once I saw McNabb,Manning and Culpepper up at the same time with all going to different teams
Thanks
Marmel

Advice: Although Jim may respond to you here, he normally has not in the past.
He will get back to you pretty quickly if you send him an email with your questions though.

If one thing's for certain, it's that my policies often change. Especially when it comes to this sort of thing, because the ideal media for communication with customers changes rapidly. Three years ago, email was far superior in almost every way. Today, that's not necessarily the case. I miss many questions, too, because I'm only in here once every day or two, and I don't read every item. This is also not my web site. But if it's recent and I see it, I'll try to reply.
To answer your question, teams try to sign their top free agents, but they're quick to abandon players who they believe aren't among the best at their positions. Usually, if a player isn't resigned the year before free agency, there's a high likelihood he'll become a free agent. And that mirrors the trend in the NFL the last few years.
Also, is McNabb always the same McNabb we see in the NFL today? The X-factor may mean he's mediocre in some careers, or at least not an elite quarterback.
That said, I don't think FOF teams are doing a perfect job picking the right contracts to renegotiate.
