To slightly threadjack this, a few years back in the NBA playoffs when it was Bulls vs. Pacers, my friends and I had an ongoing debate as to who was the uglier person: Larry Bird, or Scottie Pippen. I was in the Scottie Pippen camp, and in fact to this day believe that Pippen is hands down the uglier of the two. What do you, the fine folks of FOFC, think?

Is Bird still wearing the mustache? With the mustache, he's DEFINITELY uglier than Pippen.

Bird is mustache-free.

Larry Bird or Scottie Pippen? - Tough call since I absolutely cannot stand either guy.
Let's go with Bird. Even without the mustache he is one homely guy.

I must say Larry Bird is really ugly, and yes I think he's uglier than Pippen

why can't people focus on inner beauty?

It's not what's outside that counts children. True beauty comes from within.
But man, if I had a chance to hook up with Natalie Portman, but she was a total bitch, I wouldn't think twice about it.

You're talking about the inner beauty that makes him refuse to acknowledge his illegitimate daughter, right?
Not that Isaiah's any better in that regard...

Jermaine O'Neal wants to re-sign with the Pacers too! It is looking good for Pacer fans.

If it weren't for inner beauty, there'd be no beauty at all on this board.

Why was Thomas outed?

I submit a write-in vote for Popeye Jones...

My prediction only -- I don't think Bird has any loyalties to Thomas at all and Pacer fans in general think he's a terrible coach.

You added a couple extra words there. He singlehandedly lost both playoff series for Indiana the last 2 years.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I don't think Isiah Thomas was fired though I do think it would help the Pacers to get a new coach such as Rick Carlisle.

Bump -- can I get a witness? Hey it only took Bird 7 weeks to can Isiah, but what the hell.

"I don't know who I would have signed with, but I would not have signed back there. Bottom line," O'Neal said early Thursday at the Tournament of the Americas, where he is competing for the United States in qualifying for the 2004 Olympics.
YES! BUH BYE ISIAH!
AND BUH BYE JERMAINE O'NEAL!
Carlisle for Isiah and O'Neal.. Seems like a deal to me.
Way to go, Pacers.

Sam "The Alien" Cassel or Tyrone "Ugly Stick" Hill, YIKES...
O'Neil says he was duped into resigning now, he's hopping mad...

It sounds like he was.
He was promised Isiah would be coach, and now he's not.
Well, Pacers fans, if you lose him, it won't matter much who's coaching.
So everyone who is glad Isiah is gone, care to comment?
A beloved Pistons fan is waiting.

O'Neal is a great talent but I think they can live without him. If I was a Pacer fan (and I may yet become one), I'd rather have a good coach and good management than one temperamental but talented child.
Maybe, uhh, Kenyon Martin is available?

A good managment that lies to players seems to be kind of ironic, no?

True, true. Lying to the players would majorly suck.

This will be classic. Rick Carlisle. An angry Jermaine O'Neal. Ron Artest. Heh, heh, heh... Good times will be had by all. Carlisle is not a player's coach. The majority of the Pistons' players hated him. Things will get a might bit interesting down in Indiana.
This is good news for the Pistons and Pistons' fans and pretty much makes Indiana Enemy #1. They fire Isiah. The hire our old coach. They are run by our old nemesis Bird. They are a generally unlikeable lot.

I don't see this working out at all.
Bird took way to long to fire/hire a coach, and now Indiana is going to spend most of it's season staying in playoff contention.
I just think the players are going to side with Isiah on this one and that spells trouble for Carlisle, especially as HB pointed out that he wasn't a players coach, and Indiana's players are much more outspoken then Detroit's.
