El Rushbo Joins ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown
Live at 3:30PM ET today, Rush 24/7 members will be able to hear and watch on
the Dittocam, Rush's conference call with ESPN executives and reporters on
his decision to join ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, starting in September...

----------------------------------------------
Between Rush and Irvin, I have officially lost any interest in what was the last bastion of watchable sports programming. I don't even have much against Rush, but I have a feeling this will lead to more cbs/fox hi-jinks than football.

That's official. Irvin & Rush. I'll never watch ESPN football shows, other than the actul games & the draft.

Frank Gifford must have cursed Disney/ABC/ESPN when they canned him.

I recall a few years back Rush actually did an audition with ABC to do MNF, but they went with Dennis Miller instead (lost to some really select company there). So now we're looking at Michael Irvin, Chris Berman, Joe Theisman, and Rush Limbaugh. Do they really think there will be enough air left in that room to support life?

Well, w/ Irvin/Limbaugh on ESPN and Sanders on CBS, I guess it is off to Fox.

Fox is reportedly trying to hire Dr. Laura and Dexter Manley to liven up their pre-game show.

I would love to see Dr. Ruth as the sideline gal.

"Zo Brett. Tell me about your penis..."

i thought this was going to be about espn reporting on a video game they played...all stars versus all star snubs in basbeball this year.

complete with video highlights!

They should go to Playboy, with a new girl every week covering the sideline reporting duties in those nice bunny outfits they have. I think it's a great idea :)

Are all of these comments tongue-in-cheek? If any of you are being serious and are really this hot-and-bothered about a change affecting mere minutes of an NFL show, you should seek some professional guidance about sorting out your life. I think there is a book available about not sweating the small stuff that would help you.

Check the thread title Tekneek. This is not small stuff. This is football.

If Michael Irvin is the same on this show as he was on "Best Damn Sports Show Period", he will likely turn off more fans than Rush would.

This might wind up being true, though I doubt it. Some people might watch Countdown despite Michael Irvin...others will definitely tune it out because of Rush.

Either way, it's all a non-issue. I don't think the vast majority of fans give a damn whether Rush is on there or not. If he sucks, they will call it out. If he doesn't, they will go along with it just fine.

This much, we can agree on. :)
