Has anyone seen this? I am thinking of renting it tonight. It is supposedly a concept movie of the mystery/suspense variety about a guy with amnesia or some similar memory afflicting problem. The scenes are played backwards from last to first so that the audience will identify with the main character who has no idea what is going on. Sounds different.

Sounds annoying.

Do a forum search...Memento has been discussed quite a bit before.

There's been a pretty thorough discusson of this movie previously (last year?) - you might try doing a search for that thread. But be warned, there may be spoilers in that thread.

To keep my comments brief, I'll simply say that I thoroughly loved it.

Enjoy!

Great movie...it's definitely worth a rental, if not a buy

I'll throw in my vote of great movie. I won the DVD. One of the best movies, IMO.

A must-have rental. I wouldn't buy it, however, since it's not interesting after the second viewing.

Here's the "old thread" about the movie, from a time near its release. It's full of spoilers, but was a pretty interesting discussion.

Excellent movie. Thumbs up.

Do not read the discussion thread before you watch it.

I've seen it 3 or 4 times, and each time I pick up on something I missed the previous time. Very deep movie.

Very good movie. Also, scour the disc and look for the way to play it forward. It makes things easier to understand (must have the special edition)

i own it Shorty, do you have the DVD? Do any of the special features shed any more light on the storyline?

If I remember, I think the web site had a few clues scatted around.

I just watched this a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a great movie, one of my top 10 or 15 ever.

This time I am that one guy. While it was an interesting movie, and worth a rental, I cannot give it the praise everyone else is. An interesting concept, and even though I pretty much have a handle on what is going on after watching it twice, I am not overwhelmed by it. Oh well, to each their own.

I guess I get to be "that other guy" twice in a row. Worth a rental but I didn't watch it twice. There wasn't that much to be missed (like, say Reloaded- where I took in all of it much better a second time) and I didn't like it enough to watch it twice.

That is the first time I have ever heard anyone have that comment. I have seen it 4 times and I don't think you can even consider having watched it until you have watched it twice.

Love it, own it, still don't completely understand it but don't care because I have come to believe that is the whole point.
