This was on the news not too long ago up here, but their focus was on implanting these on know sex offenders and child molesters so as to 'hopefully' keep track of them better.

They could have their uses, but this is starting to get a little scary.

Makes it nice that a hospital could bring up and unknown crash victim's medical history. Could mean the difference between life or death if the person has an allergic reaction to certain medication and is not alert enough to make it known.

Could make tracking down criminals that much easier. Scan everyone when they get on a bus, train, boat or plane. Instant red flag on terrorists as well.
