Hey guys!

I need a fun team to play in NCAA 2004. My roommate and I played a Big 12 Dynasty in 2003, where I played with Baylor and he played with KSU. He wanted a challenge this year with KU, but realized that KU stinks. Bad.

So we are going to pick new teams.

Here are my wants, in order of priority:

In a Mid Major Conference.
In a good state to recruit.
Cool Fight song
Middle to lower part of that Conference.
Better Defense than Offense.

Any recommendations?

Toledo would be a decent team. They are from the MAC, recruit out of Ohio, so that's good. And they must have some talent because I noticed they upsety #6 Pitt in my dynasty first year.
Other than that, I don't know anything about them.

An off the wall suggestion is Western Kentucky. They are defending I-AA champs, have some cool looking unis, and you could put them anywhere you want. Kentucky isn't a great recruiting state, but being next to Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee, and Virginia can't be too bad.

SMU Mustangs. They are in the WAC and in Texas. I'm currently doing a dynasty to turn them around.

Pick an independent. Like UConn. Then try to work your way into a conference. You and your buddy can schedule a rivalry game with each other every year in week 15. That's what I do with my friend.

I'd second UConn.

You can't beat UTEP. They're in a solid mid-major, in a great recruiting state (plus its close enough to New Mexico and Arizona to get recruits from there), they're currently one of the worst two or three teams in the WAC, and they have a defense that is young and has potential.

Give them a shot. It'll be worth your while...

Well, if you want a challenge, I hear Rutgers sucks.

I almost went with UConn and UTEP, but in the end, I went with SMU. I loved their RB situation, and with a better OL, I think I really can lead this team to good things.

The roommate went with LA Tech, because he is afraid of a challenge and is a passing whore. I cannot wait to out recruit him, and in two years sit in a Cover 3 and piss him off.

I changed the schedule to have four easy opponents, and hopefully go 8-4 and get a bowl bid. I crushed Troy State 28-3, but squeaked out a victory on the road vs. Kansas 10-7.

Baylor with be my first love, but I see myself digging SMU. I especially like their playbook filled with between the guards running and crossing routes.

I'm waiting for the usual response to the "Rutgers Suck" remark
