This is the now 34 year old wingback. He got 2 stars, so I convinced her to go buy a new wingback and to sell him.

She has 2 divine SP guys (I think). The other would be Jeffrey Parham. The guy she is selling is Stuart Biggs... I think if she sold parham, she'd get significantly more.

150 000 for a guy with very average ratings is definitely not bad, I think.

That's kindof disappointing. I figured they'd command in the 500K range because anything above formidable set pieces is quite rare.

playing a 3 star guy if your team is loaded with 5 star players (or greater) is not good.

Yeah, I think people are at least a little too hung up on the star/team position ratings. Obviously set pieces aren't as important as the things that contribute to those, but that doesn't mean that they aren't important at all.

Put simply, a ** player with divine set pieces is more valuable than a *** player who is a non-contributor there, particularly at the levels most FOFC teams are at. I won't speak for higher levels, where the * differentials are higher, and the opposition (esp. the keepers) are way better.

yes but the type of owner who has a roster filled with two and three star guys can't afford to pay hundreds of thousands for a player. The owners who can afford to pay that much aren't interest in the guy because he's only a 2-3 star guy.

Stars aren't inherently evil any more than 'passable' or 'solid' are evil. It's a good and easy way to make a guess on what kind of level the player is at off-hand. On the other hand, being overly hung up on stars is stupid. There's a big difference.

I think the point that Kevin is trying to make - and, if it is, I agree with it - is that a team that employs players in the 2-3 1/2 stars level (I'm guessing anywhere from passable to excellent) aren't going to be able to afford to pay 200 000 - 500 000 for a guy like that. And teams that are in the upper class are probably too busy trying to wring out whatever performance they can out of what they have or can get their hands on.

Personally, I think he would have been a perfect winger for a team like DK's or that other team with divine defense that Havok was talking about last year. The 1 - 2 goals per games he'll consistently provide (especially if you have a header specialist) is probably enough to make the difference between win or loss for those guys.
