Just Wondering about How/Why of Confidence boost

I got thrashed 7-1 in Cup game and my Confidence went down to wretched. It stayed there ALL week, so I figured I was screwed for my game today.

Well, got on while ago and the Confidence went to STRONG- that's a 3 step boost in one update.

Now, I am pleased as punch and all, but was wondering if this is the norm, if I got lucky or if I should quit being a lazy-ass and read the 'Rules for Beginners' and all again, cuz it would have told me why.

For the second time this season my confidence dropped from wonderful to decent during the saturday update without any reasonable explaination. I know there was another thread about the same thing recently but I don't think anyone knew what might cause this. With your positive jump I'm starting to wonder if there might be a bug somewhere.

I have 5 because I added them after the Cup game sent confidence in the tube. I had 1 before wednesday.

psychos boost confidence extremely well. I would venture to say it's entirely possible 5 of them would/could jump your confidence that much. last season, around mid way, I went 1-0-3 and confidence hit the shitter. I hired 3 of them and confidence went from poor to strong. I fired them the next week after I won my game and it stayed strong/wonderful.

I had a similar phenomenon happen to me this week, oddly enough after firing one of my psycho's, I have three of them now. After my 7-1 cup loss my confidence was at wretched, after updates it shot up to strong. No complaints, really...

In terms of their effect on the game engine:

TS effects the midfield rating.

Confidence helps determine how successful your scoring chances are; however, if confidence is too high then the team may become overconfident and play worse (relatively rare event).

Was exactly the same for my team after losing 9-0 in the cup last Wednesday. After a 3-1 win, the confidence is now at poor (2 levels jump)...
