I was matched up against D.III Celtic FC in the 4th round of the US Open Cup and I decided to play it normal. Well, despite an enormous advantage in ratings and stars, West Henrietta won 4-nil. Here it is:

West Henrietta FC
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: passable
Right Side Defence: solid
Central Defence: passable
Left Side Defence: inadequate
Right Side Attack: passable
Central Attack: passable
Left Side Attack: excellent

Celtic FC
Player rating and Team formation
Midfield: passable
Right Side Defence: formidable
Central Defence: outstanding
Left Side Defence: excellent
Right Side Attack: solid
Central Attack: brilliant
Left Side Attack: passable

WHFC had 23 stars, Celtic had 35.5 stars. I played my B-team midfielders and B-team goalie. It seems like an odd result.

Not that shocking when you compare midfields. You just got lucky a bit.

Masteryoda is the owner of The Fancy Garlic Presses, II.4 I think? Celtic FC is a real life friend of his, and they duked it out in III.16 for what seemed like an eternity. Masteryoda is also fond of posting odd yet usually funny messages on the HT-Forums from time to time.

Why do I know this? They both found Hattrick because of me.

VIVA LA PATTING MYSELF ON THE BACK!!!!

Here is the press announcement over at Celtic FC:

8/14/2003

Cup Exit

Fans, coaches and players could only look on in amazement as a team 2, yes 2 divisions below Celtic managed to whallop them 4-0. "I don't know what happened," said coach Clark Hatcher, "but it's obvious what we are taking home in our big bag! But at least while the other teams in the league have a match to worry about every Wednesday, we can sit around with our thumbs up our bums."

Woohoo, Go Crazy Lions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
