I have been playiing a lot of Knights of the Old Republic since I got it last week. I absolutely LOVE the interface and viewpoint of the game. I feel more "in the action" than I ever have in your standard isometric view RPG. I'm wondering (and hoping) that this is the way that Bioware decides to go with future RPG's as well. I am salivating at the thought of a "Standard" D&D game or, heaven forbid, Fallout 3 with this same perspective. Yes, there are some trade-offs, but I think it is simply amazing. More over-the-shoulder/3rd person RPG's please!

Nov 19th is the current release date for the PC that I've been hearing from my local gamespot: I can't wait :)

if I'm not mistaken, Bioware isn't going to be doing more "official" D&D games (a different company is doing Temple of Elemental Evil).

Really enjoyed KotOR a lot..great game, I still personally prefer the old school Isometric view though. I'm not sure what it is, but it just FEELS right to me. :)

KOTOR is FANTASTIC!!! I played it for 3 hours straight last night (and I never play solo console games for more than 30-40 mins, esp. an RPG!). Hopefully they come out with another SW: KOTOR game in this generation of consoles. This game is selling well enough to justify it.
I'm not huge into Star Wars,
I'm not huge into RPG's,
but KOTOR is awesome! :)

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they did come out with a sequel(I hope they do...).
KOTOR is amazing... One of the best RPG's I've ever played!

Now to be fair, I haven't played KotOR so I could be wrong but based on what little I know of it, it doesn't feel like a Fallout-type game to me. Not that one is better or worse, they just feels like they're from different types of game. On the other hand, if you mean a KotOR-type game in a Fallout-universe, it definitely would be interesting.

That's exactly what I meant. Fallout/Fallout2 are on my all-time favorite RPG list, and I would love to see that universe done witht he perspective used in KOTOR.

The setting was pretty darn well done. I agree with you that they could really extend it to a number of different ideas.
