Need Madden Help

Ok. This will obviously be a stupid question, because I've searched several Madden forums, and no one else seems to have asked it.

I'm playing coach mode on a PC version. When I go to play a game, the game plays fine. The question is: how do I get the game to allow me to call the plays? I can't find any options allowing me to do this. It's entertaining, I suppose, to simply watch the game unfold from the owner's box, but I'd like to call the plays.

This forum seems to be the best I've found for obtaining legitimate answers to questions, regardless of the subject.

Gabe: In the game options window, which you access from the computer icon in the lower right corner, select coach. Then you need to assign the keyboard or controller to you in the pregame screen. That should do it.

btw- From my experience and from what I've rea, coach without major slider mods i useless. I almost could not call a play where Vick would throw the bal or run. I ran a streak of eight straight sacks on eight different pass plays. 've completely given up on coach for now.

Thanks, JPhillips. It turns out my problem was not knowing how to assign the keyboard or controller. I kept trying to click on the icons to no avail. Finally, I figured out that I had to click and drag the icon to one of the squares.

So then I made my first attempt to call plays. What a disaster. I thought I would be able to simply select a play, click a button, and sit back and watch in the manner I was accustomed. No such luck. Seems I need to figure out which keys and mouse clicks do what. Even when I stumble into getting a play called, it seems I have to L-click to snap the ball (hey, I'm the coach; shouldn't my qb handle that?). Worst of all, I'm somehow supposed to be the cameraman. At first I couldn't even see the plays unfold. Then I figured out by spinning around my mouse, I could at least see the players on the field, although the best I could do was being 3 miles up in the endzone.

Can anybody point me in the right direction for how to quickly pick plays and then how to control the camera? The manual sucks.
