This was posted over at the OOTP Developments board on an update for the boxing game by Jim Trunzo:

5) Horse racing. I know a great board game and it's creator. I think I'll give him a call.

Just kind of dumped in there with the rest of the post about the boxing game. Interesting tidbit IMO.

Hmm... I'd just about kill for a really good, complete horse breeding-training-racing-buying-selling text simulator. Every game that's been made for this genre has been missing one or more elements of the thoroughbred business.

Well I had to go looking, but there have been some discussion in the General Discussion board for OOTP Developments where fans would like them to do a horse racing sim. I guess it might be taking one more step closer to becoming a reality.

I'm not familiar with any horse racing board games, so I have no idea how something like that would work or how well a horse racing board game would translate to a computer text sim.

If you're curious, you might surf through the forum at:

TableTop Sports Forum at Delphi (http://forums.delphiforums.com/tabletopsports/start)

There's quite a few discussions about APBA Horse Racing as well as some newly released and/or in development tabletop games (some of which are also available in Excel format I believe)

As much as I think that should be funny, JeeberD, the humor in it cannot possibly overpower the sheer revulsion that mental picture evokes.

Wait, I thought Marcus left .400 Studios because he doesn't want to be CEO of a big and growing company. Then why is he now CEO of a company that is still looking into expanding?

Now that you've added Taco Bell to the equation, I'm interested!

It's funny, this would be the one sports game I would buy from Gindin. Given his methodical and complex approach to simulation, I think that style would work great for a horse racing sim.
