I decided to go with a Normal (Level 7) coach, which gave me 240 points to spend:
Here's the breakdown:
Recruting: 100
Scouting: 45
Coaching Offense: 50
Coaching Defense: 45
I figure I'm an ex-streetballer, who's got street cred with the kids, but not as good with the X's and O's. Be interesting to see how I do with BC:
Starting Prestige: 82

The AD's Goal: Compete for the Conference Championship
My roster:
Centers
#3 Miles Herbert (Redshirt Jr, 6'10", 261, Pittsburgh PA)
Pretty good inside (73 Inside Rating, with B Potential, and an awesome shotblocker (94/A Block Rating), and a pretty good rebounder (85/A 90/A for offense/Defensive rebounding respectively), He'll be a force to reckon with.
#20 Jackie Reitz (Soph, 6'11", 229, Ewing, NJ)
A bit of a project, maybe #3 in our centers rotation, but let's see how he does.
#12 Zack Trost (Redshirt-Frosh, 6'9", 224, Southbridge, MA)
A local kid, he'll be our #2, but not close to Herbert, who may have to play 30-36 a night if we're going to be good.
Power Forwards:
#5 Danial Reid (Senior, 6'10", 264, Colonia, NJ)
Another Veteran player who's TOUGH inside.. him and Herbert will take us far if we can get them the ball. Lacks a bit of toughness on the offensive glass, but good at getting the ball on defense. Will be part of a powerful front court.
#32 William DeLancey (Redshirt-Soph, 6'8", 231, Monson, MA)
ANother kid that's good inside, but he lacks some muscle, let's see if we can get some meat on the bones the next couple years. A good backup.
#30 Emile Wear (Frosh, 6'7", 233, Le Roy, NY)
The #3 this year, but not much drop off, will spend most of this year learning, and getting better, already a 66/B for inside!
Small Forwards
#14 Chris Trudeau (Jr, 6'9", 238, Northborough, MA)
Bigger then some teams PF, he is pretty decent with the handle, but questionable from 8-10 feet out. But he's a good inside player, which is a trend , if you haven't noticed. We want the inside game to rule this one.
#52 Charles Alessi (Frosh, 6'6", 239, Northampton, MA)
Looks to be a fair to middlin type player, will get SOME time this year, the question is how much. Can he handle college pressure without the redshirt year?
#0 Tom Bush (Frosh, 6'8", 247, Garfield, NJ)
Slightly more talented and a bit more potential then Alessi, likely will be my #2 at this position.

SG
#45 Sammie May (Sr, 6'5", 228, Gloucester City, NJ)
Very undistinugished, obviously a kid who tries hard in practice, but if he logs significant crunch time, we're in doo-doo.
#15 Seth Smith (Jr, 6'4", 213, Groton, MA)
Almost a starter by default, he's decent from mid range, but only average at the 3-ball, and his hands and passing leave a LOT to be desired. Chuck and Duck is the name of his game.
#41 Fermin Lopez (RS-Soph, 6'5", 193, Salou, Spain)
An international student, Lopez will be a garbage time player this year at best, I hope he improves.
PG
#31 Theo Vinson (Sr, 6'3", 201, Belmont, MA)
Good allaround player, wish I had him for more then a year. Good shooter, soft touch on his passes, if we need a three late in the game, he'll get it.
#40 Jose Pink (Frosh, 6'4", 184, N. Andover, MA)
Got four years to grow, and he has good potential, it's just coaxing it out of him. Will back up Vinson this year.
#34 Martin O'Neill (Frosh, 6'2", 210, Marblehead, MA (NON-SCHOLARSHIP PLAYER)
Strictly garbage time. Probably will learn the game from the bench.

Game 1: Vs George Washington (0-0)
Vinson comes out hot, hitting 3 3 pointers as we go to a 14-8 early lead, 6:00 in. We're running a Press into a 2-3, as we try to wear out GW.
Vinson drives and dunks on the GW zone, and starts woofing a bit at his defender going back up court. (yes, it did say, that Vinson was taunting his defender). I quickly yank him out for a minute to give him a verbal reminder that we don't do that kind of thing.
Vinson knows that I'm just laying down the law, I don't mind showing up the defender, to a point (after all, look at the stuff your average streetballer does after faking somebody out), just that they have to get back on D QUICKLY. One good thing is our driving gets them to foul us, and we're already in the penalty with 12 minutes to play. We're up 18-8, but GW goes on a 8-2 run over 3:18 to cut the lead to 4.
After GW cuts the lead to 20-18, the subs then score six points in a row. The Press is wearing them out, as they have 8 turnovers in the first 11 minutes of the game, and they take a time out to try to rally the troops.
We go ice cold from that point, failing to score through missed shots and turnovers on NINE straight possesions, and it's a somber crew that comes into halftime, down 40-32.

Within four minutes of the 2nd half, Herbert and Vinson have to sit for a while, with four fouls each. With them out, the team suffers, and GW stretches the lead to 51-38.
It's a slow, long fight back, as we bring the foul troble folks into the game for short stretches, as we chip away at the lead, all the way to 54-48, with 10:50 to play. It's back and forth, but they miss a couple shots, and we take advantage, as a Trudeau baseline jumper brings us within 1 with 6:18 to play, 63-62. Vinson and Herbert are back in, although Smith has fouled out.
Delancy pulls down his third straight defensive board, and we come up court with the GW fans screaming for a defensive stand, and Delancy dribble drives, and kicks it back out to Vinson, who hits a three and Vinson pumps his fist going back up court, right in front of the GW bench, as we've finally retaken the lead, 65-63. They call at time out to try to calm the team down, but it doesn't help any, as they throw the ball into the fifth row on their next possession.
Vinson's continuing to try to do it all, but GW's forward Winston Morehead steps in and takes a charge, and we'll have to play the last 4:53 without Vinson. The tie it up, and then draw ANOTHER charge, as they seem to have adjusted to the driving tactics we've used. And the fans are screaming, and I'm screaming at the refs, and it's college basketball at it's finest.
Trudeau scores the next four points for on a putback and a 11 foot jumper, and we lead 69-67 with 3:16 to play. They get called for traveling, (oh the fans hated that one). After a miss from Herbert, they come down and tie it up at 69 with 2:40 showing on the clock, off a John Grissom jumper from the top of the key.
(Aw heck with it, I'll do posession by posession since this is a great game :))
2:22 BC Herbert finds Delancey off the drive for the hoop. 71-69 BC. Trudeau is down and hurt however. Reid comes in for him.
1:52 GW Shaw misses a three pointer, Decottingnies gets his ninth board of the game, and kicks it back out, but Burgos gets called for 3 in the key, and we take over.
1:37 BC Delancey Dribble drive from the left baseline, COUNT IT! 73-69 BC!
1:19, GW not panicking, Burgos drives.. BLOCKED by Delancey.. over to Decottingnies and he'll lay it up and in. 73-71!
:45 BC Delancey dribbles in, kicks it out to Lopez.. off the rim and out! GW with the board!
:10 GW, Shaw with a quick 3, NO GOOD! but he gets it back, plays an inside outside game with Decottingnies and gets it at the free throwline, this time, GOOD! 73-73
Final Possesion of Regulation:
Lopez to Jose Pink. Pink over to Reid, with :05 on the clock. Drives.. NO GOOD, rebound tipped in the air.. Pink grabs.. TOSSES AT THE BUZZER.... GOOOD! GOOOOOOD! BC WINS 75-73!!!!!
WHEW.
What a game.
Vinson gets player of the game for leading the fight back. Stats coming next post:

This game is going to give me a heart attack I swear.
We open our home schedule against #18 Arkansas, and it's a Katie bar the door slugfest. Vinson isn't as good, but Reid , Smith and Delancey all score in double digits, and we need just about every single point as we SQUEAK by, 61-58.
USC upsets #3 Syracuse 98-82, and we look to finally get a good wipeout game as we play West Coast side Mount St Mary's, but it's closer then I would have like, even though we win comfortably, 73-64. Smith and Vinson had 14 and 13. With the rest of the teams, playing, we've dropped out of the top 25 despite being 3-0. We are 28th really, 3rd in the "Other Teams Receiving Votes"

We continue to roll over the easy teams in our non-conference schedule, destroying Monmouth 86-48, forcing 31 turnovers and shooting 55% for the game. Delancey goes 9 for 11 for 18 points, Reid adds 17 and Vinson 13, the one part of our game that needs work is free throw shooting, as we only hit 57%

There was a couple upsets this week, and we're back in the rankings at #21, but that will get an immediate test. The next game is not so easy, as we welcome #3 Michigan St to the Conte Forum, in hoping to boost our stock nationwide. We will be missing Zack Trost for the next month, as he got hit with an academic suspension.
Another tight game, as the Spartans came to play, and it's tied 42-42 at the half, and despite committing 14 first half turnover's we still are shooting 56% for the game so far. Reid has 12 for us.
The 2nd half is a game of streaks, as we take an 8 point lead with about to 6 to play, and Michigan St fights back to tie it at 66 all with 2:45 to play. Consecutive buckets by Hilbert and Smith stretch the lead out to 4 over the next minute. Hilbert adds a dunk, and it's pretty safe. We finish the game with an 8-2 run, and win 84-78.
That's a pretty good scalp we just claimed ;)

Since we've finished our recruiting before the next game, figure I'll take some time to introduce you to next year's freshmen:
SG Keith Chenoweth (4*, 6'6", 209, GPA 2.58, SAT 1120)
From Grover Cleveland HS in Ridgewood, NY, he averages 14.5 points per game, hitting roughly 44% of his shots, and was voted all-state, and Mr Basketball in New York. A great scoring threat, his ratings are: Jumpshots 62/A, Free Throws 80/B, and 3-pointers 58/A. Especially at a position we're somewhat weak, to get one of the top 10 SG in the Nation (#9 overall PG, 2nd best in the east) is a great job.
SF Andrew Fort (3*, 6'7", 213 Stonington HS Pawcatuck, CT)
A good inside player, even though he only averages 10 per game, he's also good for about 10 boards per game. A pretty good pickup, and I can see him getting some time at PF as well if he develops well.
PG Stephen Young (3*, 6'1", 177, North Adams HS, Seaman, OH)
Averaging 11 per game for North Adams, Young is very good handling wise, and will hopefully grow into becoming a good player for us down the road.

We sweep the state of Michigan, as the Wolverines come to Conte Forum, and we smack them 90-76. 28 turnovers was the difference, depsite their hot shooting (61%) from the floor, they just couldn't keep the ball long enough. Reid scored 20 and added 9 boards. He'll have to keep it up, as Hilbert got injured, getting hit in the eyes, and will miss ten days while his blurred vision heals.
In other Big East action, #5 Syracuse falls to #1 Cincinnatti in an early season showdown 89-72, Notre Dame gets blown out by #17 Florida by 20, but Rutgers defeats #22 Utah St 68-65.

We stretch the run to 10-0 and a #14 ranking, as we sandwich two semi-squeakers (72-68 over Middle Tenn St and 77-70 over Harvard) on blowout bread, (71-51 over Army, and 82-56 over Arkansas St)
We do this with significant injuries, as Reid, Vinson, Hilbert all miss significant amount of time, and as we start League Play, we will still be missin Reid, who broke his jaw.
