Time for my annual salute to the Missouri Tigers and invitation to all the other Tigers who visit this board to chime in on the season.
Conservative is the only word I could think of to describe today's win over Illinois. They didn't really play bad, but they just did enough to win. Two big special teams plays probably kept this from being a loss.
Brad Smith didn't look terribly comfortable, although he did throw several nice passes. They look great on the final touchdown drive, but other that the offense looked out of sync. I don't know if Pinkel was just trying to win this game without giving away too much and getting anybody hurt on the turf. They've got 4 cupcakes coming up now, so in theory they could lay low with the offense befor pulling out the bag of tricks against Nebraska.
This win was huge in that if they they should be double-digit favorites in the next four games. That would put them at 5-0 with the Huskers coming to town. Nebraska (nor OK State for that matter) showed me anything today. I think this could be the year that get that monkey off their back.
