this kid was a 1st team junior AA. checkitout:

4-08-OKLA44 (12:32) OKLA 10 Castillo punted 50 yards from the OKLA44.
TEXS 80 Drake returned the ball -4 yards to the TEXS02. Tackled by OKLA 10 Castillo.

Is that his very first feat or has he done impressive things in numbers already ??


Also, do you have FOF as well ?
If so, check out if he turns pro and gets drafted somewhere !!
I'd love to get that draft file and get the guy on one of my teams...I've always been deficient at Punter. I could use a warrior like that.

I'm way too slow. I was looking at it thinking, what's the big deal about a 50 yard punt?

Not only a warrior, but he must have some really good speed numbers to make up that kind of ground. Of course he probably got yelled at by his special teams coach for getting himself out of position in the coverage.

1. I didn't think about that, but he didn't get a stoke - 0 for his career. do punters ever get stokes?

2. He doesn't have great numbers.

overall 79/79.
power 68/73
returned 61/61
inside 20 75/75

his career average is only right around 37 yards, but about 1/3rd of his punts land inside the 20. I was kind of suprised that he made AA, honestly.

but you just can't beat that play.

if you really want the draft file, I'll probably finish the season here in the next couple of days. I have an older version of FOF, but to be honest I'm too hooked on TCY at the moment.

I've always considered punting to be one of the most poorly done areas in the game. I have never had a guy average over 40, yet it's pretty standard for a college kicker to do it IRL. I wished Jim had tweaked this by now.

I think the problem is the 4th down logic. If the computer is around the 30-40, it tends to punt instead of trying a field goal, as it did in earlier versions. I thought people complained about that, and so Jim tweaked it. Its still better than how NCAA 2004 handles it. If a team is anywhere from the 30-50, the computer always goes for it. It won't punt or try a long field goal.

At first I wasn't that impressed with a 50 yard punt... than I read it again... lets just say I'm impressed...
