I'm sure this topic has been touched on several times, but I'm bringing it back. I've just got a new job, where I sit in an office for about ten hours a week. I share this room with three other people, and they all listen to some radio quietly, so I figure I can do the same thing. They all listen to talk radio, so I figure that listening to music might be a little too loud and disruptive. So I've been looking on the internet for a good sports radio station. I'm listening to Sporting News Radio now, and it's all right, but they're talking about baseball. So, anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for stations I should try out? Thanks!

It's pretty obvious, but what about ESPN Radio (http://espnradio.espn.go.com/espnradio/index) ?

I tried that, but I don't know. Seems like too much fluff. Every time I listen to Tony Kornheiser, he's talking about some random crap, not related to sports at all. What I'd like most is something that's just football-related, or at least as close as possible. Plus, for some reason I couldn't get the player for ESPN Radio to work today.

That's funny, I couldn't get it to work either last week...?

Yeah, Kornheiser goes off on a number of tangents, but he's pretty entertaining (I usually just fire up WinAmp in work with my headphones).

edit: Hey, what do you know - post 1900.

I lOVE Mr Tony. I'm so pissed cause the ESPN radio station here cut back his show to just the first hour so that they could have a lame local show instead.

Dan Patrick also has a good show...

we lose the last hour of Dan Patrick so this local idiot can have a afternoon drive time show. (drive time in hampton roads starts early)

it is almost enough to drive a fellow to XM.

I have XM. If you do any driving at all to/from work, its definately worth it. It hardly every changes from ESPN Radio because I'm a big fan of Patrick/Dibs and Mike and Mike in the morning.

I've been thinking of getting XM... what's it cost?

XM costs 9.99 (I believe , never really check the statements) a month. You can get a car kit for around $150 or so. It costs more if you want a seamless job (new receiver, etc). I have the car kit and everything works fine.

How's the reception? I live in a mountainous, forest-ridden area. If a tree is gonna block my signal, I'm not interested.

OCCASSIONALLY tree's do block the signal. But its strange, sometimes I'm on a road where there are tall , full, trees and the signal is fine, then I'm on a highway with less tree's and the signal goes out.

But overall I'd say I have coverage about 99.5 percent of the time. If you're really serious about getting it, I'd recommend going to best buy, buying the thing, installing it, then go on the road and test it out. Best Buy always takes stuff back.
