So, Sharon (my wife) is getting our third (and final) ultrasound, which we had to practically beg for, and the nurse waves the wand over our little bundle of joy's nether regions and says,

"Yep... those are testes."

My reply, "Are you sure?"

Nurse: "I've been doing this for 26 years."

Me: "OK. But if we have a girl, I'm coming back here for my testes."

So, without further ado, we proudly present the first confirmed sighting of Franklin Noble Brown, Jr. His present measurements indicate that although Sharon is only 32 1/2 weeks pregnant, our darling boy is already somewhere around 6 1/2 pounds. When the technician scanned a cross-section of his abdomen, she said,

"Look, there's his little tummy."

Sharon: "That doesn't LOOK like a 'little' tummy to me..."

Nurse: "Me, either."

Sharon: *grumbles... restrains herself from slapping nurse*

Everything else looks normal and healthy. "Junior" is still tremendously active, and seems to think Sharon's internal organs are his own personal set of punching bags. She's already vowed that he's grounded the moment he gets out...

lesson 1: "tummy" is not a part of the male anatomy.

Congrats. Our first happened pretty quickly, our second has been 2.5 years in the trying. We're getting a battery of tests done to determine if anything is "wrong," although the doc thinks it might be related to some thyroid medication my wife is taking. She may end up taking a pill that will increase the chances of a multiple birth. So, I may turn into a 'revrew' in one shot. I really don't want to end up on the cover of People magazine, though. Just one, that's all I'm asking for, just one.

Oh, and our doc has been successfully predicting the sex of the babies he delivers for 15+ years now. He offers - and is completely serious about it, although he's never been wrong - to pay for the child's college education if he gets it wrong.

Congrats, franklin! When's your wife due? Late October? My wife and I are expecting our first (a girl) in very early November. The wife's already reluctantly conceding I'll be turning her into a sports nut. Only regret is that she won't be born a proper Southerner. :)

Our first child was born 8 weeks early. Our local hospital said we were having a boy. When complications developed, we were sent to a hospital with a large neo natal unit. They also said...boy. Emergency C section was required...when the (Indian/Pakistani) nurse said in broken english, "congratulations, you have a daughter", I was shocked. Not disappointed, but with everything going on, that was the last thing I anticipated hearing. She is now 13, in good health and a very good kid. I'm sure these things are right 99% of the time, but you can't be certain until "the day" arrives. Best of luck to you and your family.

Yeah, she's due Oct. 24, but I doubt she'll make it that long. I expect her to deliver in late Sept. or early Oct. The kid's gonna be enormous if he goes full term. I've already nicknamed him "Frank the Tank." :D

Those measurements can be way off. A week before my wife delivered our 6 lb. 9 oz. daughter, we were told that she was already 8 lbs.

True... the doctor said the measurements can be off by as much as a pound either way... but the dude looked pretty chunky to me. I sure as hell wouldn't wanna pass that through my nether regions...

nuts... schlong... Awww :)

Not to steal your thunder Frank, but I too had to share with my friends in here and while you are speaking of nuts, why would I start another thread... :)

If you look at the top pic, right by the little "+" sign on the left of the picture, yep, that's his schlong showing :D

Second one is a view from the side and bottom one is where if you turn your head to the right, you'll at him straight in the face (from the right: forehead, eyes, nose, mouth)... Pretty amazing stuff...

Due for a January 7th delivery, still a long way to go :)

She must have been on the Atkins diet.
