a little worksheet I use to make game plans.

its the only way i have found to save plans you like.

Sorry, it still requires the use of manual import/export

Below is a screenshot of a small part of it

I like to put a 1 in cols on the left if a QB knows a formation.

Formations that QB1 and QB2 know I mark in green. Formations that QB1 knows, but QB2 does not are marked in yellow. Formations that QB2 knows, but QB1 does not are marked in orange.

I try to base my formation use on Greens, with some yellows thrown in. I usually will not use orange or unmarked formations.

The worksheet is excel.

Fritz,

Doesn't it say on the bottom of the formation screens that if your QB doesn't know a certain formation, it will not be used?

So if you assign values to all of the formations but your QB only knows 10 formations, the game will only use those 10 formations - I'm assuming it will increase each of those 10 formation percentages proportionately.

shadow,

I am not sure what happens. I have not seen a report that lists formations used in a game (is there an obvious one that i have been missing?), so I can't be sure what is going on behind the scenes.

You could just use them all and let the game make adjustments, but you might not get what you want out of it.

For instance, imagine you have a game plan that sets both Weak 3WR and Strong 3WR to 25 in slight passing situation, and sets I, I WR moves to slot, Pro, Strong, and Weak to 10. The goal here is to put 3 WR on the field 50% of the time.

If your QB comes out and does not know Strong 3WR, you would get something like Weak 3 WR 33 and everything else 13, or 3 WR on the field 33% of the time. At least if the game works the proportional way you think.

By sticking with "greens" they way I do it, both your starter and backup play the system you build. How well they play it is another matter.

The reason I started doing this is so I could save plans someplace. I still have to key in the changes whenever I want them, but at least I am not working from scratch if I want to make a change.
