Is 3/4's of the FOFC and Beyond Survival Pick Em league choking on Houston 21, Miami 20.

Yep.
I hope Miami goes 0-16.
Edit - Cris Collinsworth (doing the Falcons game) made the exact same observation when the Miami final was shown.

Yikes, I can't believe the Houston won.
When was the last time a 14 point dog won outright? I'm not a big betting guy, so I don't keep track of spreads religiously.

David Carr had a solid day at QB. If he keeps it up, you never know what will happen with them. The biggest thing, Miami got a total of ZERO sacks on Carr.

it's also the sound of the many guys who went with big probability on probabilityfootball. I had the Dolphins with 80%, this will cost me 156 points!

Of course this only happened because of my commenting on the possibility of it happening... :)

2 years in a row they pulled this out, couldn't be happier for Carr, after all the guts he showed last year, it must feel nice to see that 0 in the sack column today.
Anybody see the game? How many hits did he have to take or was his protection that good?

Same here with the dolphins at 80%, but I only missed two other games.

For whatever reason, Dom Capers knows how to coach an expansion team, at least early. See Carolina in 1995 (record seven wins for an expansion team in first year) and 1996 (NFC Title Game appearance). Then again, the team slid well back when he was finally let go.

If I was owner of a new team, I'd hire coaches in this order:
Capers - get them up and running
Schottenheimer - get to the playoffs consistently
Parcells/Gruden - put them over the edge, gameplan aggressively in big games.
We'd win the superbowl in 10 years, max.

No love for Andy Reid? I think he's doing alot of good things with the offense , and they really don't have any skill players other than McNabb on that side of the ball.

Top marks to Houston.
I could not, for the life of me understand the hype surrounding Miami this Summer. All that 'Junior Seau has decided to join a winner' arrogant crap. My bookie quoted 3-1 against the teal turds. I took my Bills at 14-1 and also had a punt on Kansas at 14's. If my joy only lasts one week, well then I guess I should make the most of it... God Bless Sam Adams... God Bless Takeo Spikes... LETS GO BUFFALO! LETS GO BUFFALO!
p.s. Chicago are the worst opening day team I have ever seen.
