So, I see this on my Hattrick "Club" page today:
Youth Squad: excellent
Can this be? I didn't know it got any better than "solid."

Depends. If you are Frogman, NAIWF or TP it does get better. If you are Havok, -panther, or myself our youth squads seem stuck on weak.
(Excellent is as high as it goes, although every now and then conspiracy theorist on the HT forums will talk about a distinction between low and high excellent).

Will it stay at "excellent" as long as I keep paying the 20 large every week?

Yes. If you drop it to 10K for just one week it will drop to solid and it will take you 16-18 weeks to get it back to excellent.

Ouch. That seems kinda harsh.

And even more good news! I've never once gotten anything higher than a passable in a 'prime' stat with my so-called excellent youth squad.
And I've had it awhile.

F*** that! If I don't make a solid pull in the next five weeks, I'll let the squad drop one week, and make pulls from a "solid" squad for a while.

I said it on the conferences and I'll say it here :D
Everyone getting good youth pulls deserves to be abducted by a Columbian drug lord, have their rectum welded (that's right, welded) shut and force fed laxatives for 48 straight hours.
I'm thinking of hiring some swedish thugs to 'ruff' up Bjorn if my youth squad doesn't give me something atleast decent.
Yet, this Hattrickanfedamine keeps getting me excited at the very thought of firing another one legged blind kid claiming to be a soccer player.

Frank, don't drop it, it pays off, EVENTUALLY. My youth squad has been at excellent for 6 weeks before this week and the combined value of my 6 youth pulls at excellent was an astonishing 55k (one of them was 29k of the 55k), until this week and this young fella came to our club...
Stuart Dunne (17395224)
17 years, passable form, healthy
Speciality: Powerful
Nationality: Canada
Assessed value: 212 000 C$
Stamina: poor Goaltending: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: wretched
Winger: solid Defending: solid
Scoring: wretched Set Pieces: weak
Now, I don't want to have my rectum welded shut (ouch, that's gotta hurt) but this young dude is currently on the market and has a bid for 600k on him. Just imagine if he had been pulled in week 1 next season
When that sale closes, my youth squad operation will officially be more than 350k in the black! I have sold some scrubs here and there, got my starting keeper from there too and even though I plucked 35 times 22k in there, it paid off EVENTUALLY...

dola, at least if you wanna drop your investment, wait at least until after week 2 or 3 of next season, as this will be the big season to refill the U20 teams...

God and I have an agreement about my rectum, and putting a boot in it would violate that treaty.
