Just got this note as I logged into HAM:

HAM CHPP Approved version available.

From Thursday Oct. 16 2003 the Hattrick CHPP rules will be enforced by the Hattrick developers. This means that all older version (before version 4.0) will be considered illegal to use. Please see the HAM website for more details and to download the CHPP approved version of HAM.

And on the HAM website:

New version 4.0.41.129 CHPP approved version

What's New?

HAM CHPP compliant

Series Spy removed

Match retrieval removed

Automatic login removed

Manual entry of Matchdata added to the Online menu (CTRL-F5). The entry form will default to the the most likely ratings. Right click the window to make it more or less transparent (Not supported on all versions of MS Windows). The matchdata entry window also supports copy/paste of the HTML source code from the match details page (matchDetails.asp) and the lineup page (matchLineup.asp). To use it, Right-click on the page in your browser and select "View Source". Select All and Copy. Right-click the match entry window in HAM and select Paste. Relevant fields will be filled.
Click here for a brief explanation of how to copy/paste source code.
Automatic detection of played league games. Reaction adjustable on the Warnings tab of the Settings dialog.
Manual entry of Youth Pull/Transfer Price when new player is detected. Can be disabled on the Warnings tab in Settings.
Manual add/delete transferhistory with right-click in the transfer history list of the Player Details dialog.
UTF-8 decoding implemented.
Right-Click on Player Details Window to correct previously retrieved UTF-8 encoded playernames.
Right-Click on the Edit Match window to correct previously retrieved UTF-8 encoded Match and Lineup data.
Polski added to denominations. Thanks to qrzys.

Important! This is the first CHPP approved version of HAM. There are a lot of changes in this version. It is highly reccomended, that you make a backup copy of your HAM data before you install this version.

We have to manually enter matches now? Why?

Because HAM isn't allowed to scan the Hattrick website for the ratings/match report. This was all expected with the new CHPP rules announced two weeks ago.

You can do a copy/paste of you match report to enter it in HAM, it's not like it won't track your players' ratings anymore, you simply have to do it differently...

i understand what hattrick is trying to do with chpp, but i think they might be going a little overboard with not allowing to scan your own match page. but oh well, i dont make the decisions around here, just like that i dont at my own house (im married)
at least HAM is certified now though on a good note.

I can't even get it to work :( The "show source code" thing, doesn't do anything on my computer. I'm loathe to start mucking about with it, unless it's a "a monkey with a hammer could fix it" type of thing.

I'm sad. It was a great tool.

show source thing not working is a Windows problem, (XP or whatever your version). Clear your cache (in other words, in IE, tools, delete temporary files) and you should be fine afterward...

Also, Loke seems confident this will be only a temporary thing, with the new XML files that HT is supposed to make available to developpers...

from what i gather this is just a temporary set back for HAM. once the hattrick devs finish implimenting all the new stuff HAM will be able to get matches again. Not that it's a big deal having to copy and past 2 lines of source code.

I suppose i can live without the series spy, just means i'll have to do more scouting myself. And i'm glad they were able to keep the transfer price evaluations in. That's a great part of HAM.

McSweeny, that's my point of view too and this is what you can get the same comments from the HAM conference on HT, from Loke himself. He seems to comunicate well with the HT devs so I'd be tempted to believe him.

As you said, it's not like having to do the copy/paste thing is gonna take you all day, and even manually entering the match report took me about 7 minutes the first time I had to do it (with the first beta)...

Series Spy was nice, but going to team page of the team you play in the current week can keep you up to date with at least one team a week. I also agree that it's nice we get to keep the market price evaluation tool, although I'd suggest everyone using this go on HAM's website and read the "how it works" information. It may give you some explanationas to how it finds similar players.

as far as entering match data, you won't have to for long.

from HAM fed conference on HT by Loke:

I strongly hope that a new version of HAM will be available soon, because matchdata has been made available for download through the CHPP XML :-).

so everyone will have their robotic statistic machine very soon. I'll still probably use my 'manual' (oh my) stat sheets as I've never used ham, or any other for that matter, to keep track of anything other than instant training breakdown. which I then 'manually', there's that word again :D enter it all into my stats. ;)

maybe that's why I don't mind the manual thing too much, since I've been doing a whole lot of manual entry in my excel spreadsheet myself :)

I use HAM simply to track my players' ratings and skill changes over time, especially form movements over time. That way I can better compare two apparently different players with differing forms too...

Not that I'm aware of, what kind of trouble are you having?

By the way, in the newest version of HAM (5.x) has the automatic match retrieval restored.
