Okay, here's the situation. I'm tied at the 5/6 spot now, in 6th by goal differential. If the season ended today, I'd be playing a relegation match from the 6th spot.

Final match of the season coming up, I play the 5th place team. I'm safely out of the relegation zone; so tie or loss and I play my relegation match as a 6th place team. If I win, I'll definately play at least as a fifth place team, and possibly avoid altogether - we're one point away from the 4th place squad. They play at home against the last place team, though, so a win should be in the cards.

The match is on the road; I have not played this team since I took the squad over.

How do I approach this? Should I PIC this game in order to set team spirit up higher for the relegation match? Should I go for the win to set up an easier match? Any thoughts?

Chances are you would be playing a bot team if you lost, so I would not be to worried about being demoted.

If I were you I would PIC, and get the extra money from a qualifier and an extra week of training.

edit: thanks RPI i missed that....yeah PIC and get your team spirit up...chances are your opponent will PIC also

#4 is pretty much guaranteed a win, he said.

I'd PIC - very little to gain from doing otherwise - even if you play a human team, you should still win (particularly with MOTS at high TS)

Yeah, #4 is at home playing the last place team; who hasn't won a game yet.

Actually, the best race in this division are the two top ones - identical points and goal diff, fighting for an auto-promote. They've each lost one game - to each other.

If you were playing the Ocelots*, I would say MOTS. Since you have at least 6th locked up, you might as well PIC.


*I know burakki (Ocelots). He's an idiot ;)
