So I am working from home today, which is great because I usually watch tv and play games on one computer while working on my other computer... anyhows.. I was flipping through my sports stations and found this new show on ESPN2 called Cold pizza...

THis is the first time I have watched it, but whats the point of this show? I thought primarily women watched the feelgood morning shows (I know plenty of men do, but the main demographic for those shows I thought were middle aged women right?).. It seems to me that ESPN is trying to put together a show like this even though its clearly not their demographic?

I watched it for 15 minutes now and have liked only one thing on it (the weather report which has Greg Proups -- or however you spell his name from Who's line is it anyways). I am guessing in the next 10 minutes I am flipping on to my other sports stations or a movie station, or something like CNN, MSNBC for real news...

Anyone else seen this show?

Based on the dreadful promos on ESPN, I can't see any way this show works on any level, for anyone.

This morning was the premiere of the show I believe.

The only interest I have in the show is based on yesterday's Sports Guy column, which mentioned briefly that he would be appearing on the show twice a week for what he deemed to be a rather entertaining segment.

Well, I at least liked the promo that had the retro light-blue Phillies road jersey in it. The rest of it looks like crap to me.

Kit is the little cutie from Road Rules I. Always liked her. That said, watching the first 1/2 of that show was just short of torture.

I don't get it either. Looked like a train wreck. A "Today"-ish show sorta half based on sports, and sports-type "fluff" pieces. And sorta semi-hot, but not really, women.

Is it for women who like sports? Or guys who are whipped into not being allowed to just watch SportsCenter all morning? Or guys who don't like the 1/2 hour "just the facts" of ESPNEWS?

Frankly, I miss when NFL Primetime used to come on at 7 AM Monday morning. Gave me something to watch.

ESPN2 doesn't have a great track record with news shows. I give this one six months.

It also had an old-school Astros jersey. That was nice as well...

I failed to mention that....yes it was. Reminded me of the 1980 NLCS :)

you know, instead of wasting your mornings watching this crap, you can always go to www.ktok.com, click on the streaming audio, and listen to that stellar morning show they have going.

Pretty much before my time (I was only three then) but I'll give you a sad face anyways...

From these negative reviews, I am assuming Kit was NOT naked?

Looks like they were going for the "sit home and watch morning talk show" crowd that likes sports. From the inordinate number of females featured prominently in the show, I also assume they feel this is largely a female crowd. No way they are getting the Oprah crowd. They should have saved this one for ESPNWomen.

I agree with Fritz (who said that?) this thing does not sniff 6 months.

To tell you the truth, it was AWFUL. It was uncoordinated, halfway about sports, and set in a house. A SPORTS SHOW IN A HOUSE. Shoot me now.

I saw about 15-30 minutes this morning and I thought the show blew... The guest doing the weather (can't remember his name) was trying so hard to be funny but was absolutely corny... Also did anyone notice the "half-time show" how retarded... The only remotely interesting thing I saw was Daryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins handing out nicknames to the cast of the show (with the exception of the wierd name he gave the male host of the show)...

I think they are trying to find a niche that does not exist...

If I remember correctly I felt the same way about "The Best Damn Sports Show" at first but at least those guys were pretty funny and somewhat entertaining...

I don't think the Cold Pizza idea has any legs what so ever... Plus that is about the stupidest name for a morning show ever!!!

but ESPNWomen might make money. As a niche cable network, that might actually fly.

Kinda makes me think The Best Damn Sports Show meets The View. You can well imagine I do not say this in a positive way.

From Rick Kamla's article at fanball.com:

"...Is there anything more worthless than the Lions’ backfield? Well, Rick, now that you ask…yes, there is something more worthless. It’s called “Cold Pizza”. It’s ESPN2’s new morning show and it is utterly and completely worthless. Like we needed more gimmicky garbage from The Gods of the Sports World. I digress..."
