If we end up having a fictional league, I can assist with the creation of helmets and can offer up the photoshop template (or one of them) I use. Within reason of course.

I'd like a bee with a football helmet on and carrying a football in sort of a "Heisman Trophy" style stance. :D

HFP, this should be a decent template to work with, though there aren't many stripe layers included.

The helmets I use to plug into the templates are at http://www.misterhabs.com/helmets.htm . I end up flipping these horizontally, which may or may not have been a good design choice, but that's how I started initially and I stuck with it.

That would require real artistic ability....so I probably couldn't pull it off, unless I lucked out and found such an image. :)
