I know there've been a couple of threads about stupid errors in grammar or spelling on ESPN's website. I just found one reading the Washington Post that made me roll my eyes.
On March 12, the publicity paid off. Residents in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy spotted the man Mary Katherine identified as Elizabeth's abductor, a drifter and self-styled profit named Brian David Mitchell who had done work on the Smart family home.
Ugh.

Perhaps a case of a writer that couldn't spell prophet correctly and relied on the first suggestion from the spell-check?
I don't know if these websites eventually have editors or proofreaders checking their articles, but it's obiviously not happening before they're posted online.

I know I'm always the guy defending these typos, but if a paper the size of the Washington Post has only one typo to found, that's a pretty good success rate. Not perfect, and perfection should be the goal, but not exactly roll-your-eyes bad.
After all, I'm sure Cam makes the odd grammatical error on his show from time-to-time, too. Or talks over a bumper, or stumbles over an intro. Sure, live radio has less margin for error than a written piece (usually), but at some point don't small errors stop being credibility issues and just become unfortunate facts of life in a given profession?
