Do set pieces train everyone or just the 11 on the field?

I assume set pieces is a random kind of thing, as to who bumps, like stamina. Is this correct?

another question, from what i understand, stanima has a max of excellent. you can go over that, but it will slowly fall back down to excellent regardless of age.
if i am wrong, please correct me on that.
but my question is, does set pieces work in a similar way? or does it work like the other skills like passing and scoring for instance?

I don't know that anyone's done any kind of study. But remember that a regular goal requite you to have the ball by way of midfield then have your offense beat their defense. So, if you have less overall talent, set piece can be a great equaliser. Also, remember that set piece can give you a set piece event (free-kicks and corners) as well as a long shot event. A very nice skill to have.
I missed Dave Sumner this season. I never realized how nice having someone at least solid at SP was. This whole season I went with inadequate or worse. Not fun. Not fun at all.
Who am I kidding? I love this game. It was fun!

tucker, I have not analyzed all of my goals, but I have an excellent set pieces player who is also a passable defender, so he is not playing forward. He scored only 4 of the 40 my team scored this season. Assuming they were all set pieces goals (which may be false, could be 3 of the 4, or even less) this means 10% of my team's goals came on set pieces. I wasn't too impressed by this...
Maybe this is a good percentage, but I wasn't impressed. Also, maybe there were other goals that came on some of Michael Nuttall's head after a corner, but as I said, I have not analysed each and every goal my team has scored this season...

Has anybody ever trained set pieces for a whole season?
Would it create alot more SE goals than normal if trained for whole season?

If set as the primary SP taker...

lytic, that's what I meant, that her SP taker was getting an average of one goal a game on SP. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough...

As I understand it (from Hattrix, I think), don't set pieces help on the "long shots", even from guys not set as the SP guy?

Guys with set pieces can score on a "long shot" special event. Chapter 10, the match: "Any player with sufficient set pieces skill and sufficient scoring skill can score on a long shot."

My wife has experienced an approximate jump of 1.75 weeks to go up a level. Maybe about a .05 adder per age over 17. Her Coach just now hit utopian and he's like 50.

All depends on ratings really... if you are going up against all divine defender with a formidable attack, I would expect more SP/SE goals than normal. SE/SP are 2 different things, but can feed off each other (I.E. divine SP with a HEAD specialty).
