Quicksand says - Considering this new "view" of the player, it adds a new and much more visible element of scouting to the game - if you have a fairly weak scout who isn't too good with the position being assessed, you might have a "band" of 50 or more points to estimate the player's skill in one area-he might highlight a range from 25 to 75 on a scale of 100 points. A better scout might have honed the estimate down a little more finely - maybe to about 30 points, from 40 to 70 points. You are still nowhere near as certain as we had become accustomed to with the old red and green bar system, but you still will be able to look at the scouting report for a series of running backs and get a fair mental picture for the style that the player should fit-is he a north-south power runner, a shifty bit-hitter type, or a pass-receiving punt-returning scatback?
I really, really like this idea. If implemented properly, this could be awesome. We could begin to see how scouts are fairing. You will have a visual feedback of how your scout is doing his job! Is he good at rating quarterbacks? The bar is smaller.....is he not so good? The bar is bigger. Great idea.
