Ever get the urge to watch a movie out of the blue for no apparent reason? I haven't seen it in years, and suddenly I am eager to watch Star Trek: Wrath of Khan tonight. Weird...

It's called masculine menopause. Like hot flashes.

Geeks unite! I guess it is a bad sign when you are viewed as geeks on a board comprised of geeks.

There are always levels of geek. I'm a Mensa member who secretly plays D & D, but also watches football.

I have a friend who reads physics and electrical engineering textbooks for fun, and only watches Simpsons, Seinfend, and MASH, and can tell you exactly what will happen in that episode 2 minutes in.

I would humbly submit that he is a higher level geek.

It's my favorite Star Trek movie. *removes geek glasses*

Not that this helps any, but I've been replaying the theme from Mystery Science Theatre 3000 all day today. Making me near insane...

In the not-too-distant future--
Next Sunday A.D.--
There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different from you or me.
He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
Just another face in a red jumpsuit.
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
But his bosses didn't like him So they shot him into space.
We'll send him cheesy movies,
The worst we can find (la-la-la).
He'll have to sit and watch them all,
And we'll monitor his mind (la-la-la).
Now keep in mind Joel can't control
Where the movies begin or end (la-la-la)
Because he used those special parts
To make his robot friends.
Robot Roll Call: (Let's go!)
Cambot! (Pan left!)
Gypsy! (Hi, girl!)
Tom Servo! (What a cool guy!)
Croooow! (What a wisecracker!)
If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
And other science facts (la la la),
Then repeat to yourself, "It's just a show, I should really just relax
For Mystery Science Theater 3000!"

. . .Then there is a level of nerd that knows the slightly different versions of the theme song based on the season.

I guess I might as well bump up the level of geek a bit, since I have 8 episodes on tape. Maybe I should watch Die Hard, or Caddyshack to offset my level of geek.

Personally, I think the show is still funny, but I abandoned regular watching when Joel departed. I'm still saddened by his absence. My favorite episode is Side Hackers.

Playing a Swashbucker, it would fit my idium to come through the 3 gap by swinging on a rope into the QB.

Maybe that is not helping my cause.

Very solid episode. My personal favorite is Warrior of the Lost World. Megaweapon. MEGAWEAPON! MEGAWEAPON!!!!!!

Agreed with the Joel thing. It became painful when Mrs. Forester started on the show. Nothing beat invention exchanges and the occational short.

I have 30 episodes labeled. I know I have several VHS tapes with 2-3 episodes on them each that are not labeled. I also have the VHS and DVD of the Movie. Also the tapes of Shorts, Shorts II, Poopie, Poopie II, The Scrapbook and The Last Dance - RAW. I also (used to) have a poster of the cast and one poster of Tom Servo (they got ruined in a move from college to home. :( ) Oh, and I have to the 2 CDs of "music".

And some small stuff (stickers, a post it pad, etc. etc.)

I love MST3K. :)

First off, it's Brett Favre (not Farve). And it's 14.

To hit armour class was a natural progression of the system. It never made sense to me that the better your armour class, the lower the number. And then, it stopped at zero. E. Gary was smoking crack that day.

You guys are all geeks.

Me either. I have never been interested in science fiction. At all. Although William Shatner's acting ability does astound me.

Do you happen to have Warrior of Lost Worlds or Swamp Diamonds? I might have to go into a geek-induced seizure if that is the case.
