Against the spread! A perfect 8-0, #1 in the nation.

I think they're going to win this weekend (outright), so maybe I'll plunk down a few bucks.

If I wasn't such a poor college student, I would have made a lot more than I already have. But with 7 successful bets with the points, and a solid moneyline bet (vs. Temple), spending money hasn't been a problem this semester.
BTW, RU getting 7.5 is way WAY too much...

Agreed. It's really looking like a good bet to me. If they lose, their season is ruined anyway so I can be broke and angry at the same time.

Normally I would agree that the 7.5 points is a bit high, but with Beckford and Hutchinson out of the game and Hairston and Moses questionable, I have some concerns about the team. We have guys who can fill in for the LBs and for Moses, but Pittman and Facyson aren't as good as Hairston. We need a big game from Brian Leonard.

If Hairston can't play (and I REALLY think he will, being from CT and all), I have all the confidence that Leonard can step right in and give another great game. 7 TDs in the last 2 games for the freak FB!!!

Leonard has looked tremendous this season, and has the robotic Mike Alstott run style. We don't have any outstanding RB's, but we're damn deep.
The season hinges on this game. I've never been so nervous/anxious regarding a Rutgers game.

So far so good! Seems like it's been a pretty even game overall (listening on radio). The blocked punt for a TD is obviously the major difference right now.
Miami had better win their game, otherwise our bowl hopes are pretty much down the drain.

I understand where you're coming form, that Miami and Virginia Tech both need to win out, so that the Big East can get 2 teams in a BCS game, which would allow the Big East to send a 6th team to a bowl game, but I want Pittsburgh to win the conference now. If we win today and can knock off B.C and Syracuse, we have a great shot to go to a bowl. If we lose 1 of those games, its gonna be very hard to get one of the Big East's tie in bids.

My hopes are:
Miami wins out
Va Tech wins out
Syrcause, Boston College, or West Virginia end up 5-7
I think if we won 6 games, we'd be an automatic selection.

31-31 with under 2 minutes remaining.
This has been one hell of a game.

Two boneheaded Special Teams plays by Rutgers. Moses tries to field a punt after deciding not to touch it, fumble UConn reserve LB Mike McIntosh fields it to set up Brockington's TD.
Then on the kickoff, Rutgers fields the ball instead of letting it go out of bounds, trying to set up the throwback play (think Music City Miracle.

Rutgers fumble on a Hook and Lateral. UConn recovers.
Ball game, I'm only off by a FG each way on the score.
UConn to 8-3.
They really need to set this up as the "rivalry" game for the teams. The last two games since UConn went D 1-A have been great. With BC out of the picture they really should hook this up!

Now just imagine if they hadn't lost their RB against Virginia Tech. Caulley was leading the Nation in Rushing going into that game. Even without him they were one pass (intercepted by Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay who scored 2 Defensive/Return TDs for the Wolfack) away from upsetting NC State on the road, in a game that McClendon actually played. That said, UConn still hasn't beaten anyone they weren't "supposed to" beat this year.
Leonard was very impressive. Rutgers is still 9-0 against the spread. I really hope they do decide to move this to "rivalry" weekend, and perhaps find some sponsor to set up a trophy. RU brought more fans then BC did to Rentschler Field (BC failed to sell out their allotment, RU sold theirs out quickly). Good luck against BC!

I don't know if I've ever been more disgusted about a game as I was with this one.
1. Hart throws a terrible ball to Pilch on a play-action. It was a solid five feet over his head. We were chewing up clock, Leonard was amazing...and then an INT. Which leads to...
2. 3rd and 20 for Pitt deep in their own territory. The pressure comes from the outside, nothing up the middle, QB steps up, scrambles around a bit, and fires a pass to a receiver who has 2 RU CBs standing around him, almost still. He catches it, Jarvis Johnson overruns the receiver...74 yards later and UConn is up 7.
3. Thanks to Leonard's fantastic running, we tie it up, and hold UConn's offense. And then Moses commits what just might be the worst mental mistake this side of Chris Webber in the NCAA tourney. He let it bounce...good move...he let it bounce again...good move...and then it pops in the air, and he tries to grab it...bad bad bad move. First down UConn.
Moses' judgement on when to catch punts had been a problem all season. Earlier in the game, there was a kick that he should have fair caught. Instead, he let it go over his head, and it promptly rolled 30 yards and was downed at the 2. No doubt that was in his head at the time, but come on Tres...

Don't get me started on those idiots.
They shouldn't have even been in the National Championship, as there's no doubt in my mind that we should have beat them when they ventured to NJ last year.

Big East is clogged up this year. Never know what will happen.
