Ok here is my problem.
I have 4 running backs and need to start 2 of them. I am definitely starting Tomlinson, and Portis has a bye week.
Here's my problem. Stephen Davis will play but isn't 100%. Do I start him or Anthony Thomas as my 2nd back.
Thanks.
DF
I'll start Davis (even vs the Bucs...)

This is tough. Thomas has been running very well the last few games and is going up against the Lions. That being said, the Lions haven't given up too many TD's this year to running backs. The reason is two fold:
1) Their interior line with Wilkinson and Rogers is decent.
2) Their secondary was very questionable before the start of the season and has became an absolute nightmare following injuries to Cash, Goodman, Watson, etc, etc, etc. At the moment, rookie Roderick Babers is out as is their only decent CB Dre Bly. The starting CBs will be Otis Smith (38) and Doug Evans (33) who until last Thursday was sitting at home. The nickle back, I think, will be rookie Terrance Holt (who is a safety). The point is that teams haven't needed to run the ball because it is so easy to pass against the Lions.
I know I haven't anwered the question, but I've provided some info, I hope.
Tough to sit Davis though. He is a workhorse. He's averaging a ton of yards and carries each game. Seems like an auto-play to me.

I'm in three pools. Two serious, one just for fun.
In all three, the guy I face this week has Stephen Davis.
Translation: start him. He will have the game of his career.

I'd say Davis. He had a huge game against the Bucs last time.
any thoughts on a QB start?
Kerry Collins vs. Atlanta
Marc Bulger vs. Baltimore
Trent Green vs. Kansas City
Green is probably 3rd in my eyes, as most K.C. touchdowns are rushing. Collins is prone to have great/bad games, so I'm a little leary of him. Bulger has been more consistent for me, but given the Ravens defense... does Kerry make more sense?

Another toughie. I have both Bulger and Green and I'm going with Bulger this week. The Baltimore defense has been impressive, but Bulger has been throwing for over 300 yards consistently. Having Faulk back should only help his stats (and give him another target).
Collins against a poorus Atlanta defense is tantalizing though.
I'd go with Bulger. He's been my man all season.

Tough?
Guys, this is the Atlanta secondary we are talking about. This is a team giving up 418 yards a game, 271 through the air (over 20 yards worse than their next nearest foe in the NFL)
I don't care how inconsistent Collins has been. He's had two consecutive 300 yard weeks and he's going against the worst team against the pass in football.
Not sure how I can make this any clearer. . . Donovan McNabb hadn't thrown for over 187 yards in any game this year until meeting the Falcons. He lit them up for 300+.
This is a no brainer. :)

I'd start Bulger. Collins vs. Atlanta is tempting, but right now Bulger is the #1 QB in fantasy football. The Ravens defense is good, but not 2000 good.
Here's mine: which 1 RB would you start?
Moe Williams (vs. SD)
Charlie Garner (vs. NYJ)
Marshall Faulk (vs. BAL)

This is tough. We don't know how Faulk would play because he's been out so long. How much will Williams get with Bennett coming back. Garner and Oakland haven't done much this season.
By past performance I would start Faulk. He's the best of the 3 even less than 100%.
Thanks to everyone's help on my RB problem. I will start Davis. He has been a workhorse for me this year.

I had a problem but it wasn't a good one. Who to start at QB?
Quincy Carter or D McNabb?
Ick!
I think that I'm going with Carter and I just have to hope that he breaks out for amonstrous game. Which for him would be a pair of passing TDs and no picks. I'd be happy with that.

Bulger has yet to play, but it's not looking like such a "no brainer" at the moment...
Thing about football, you just never know.

Yep, you never know. . . you have to go by either your gut or the statistical evidence.
If you are asking other people for advice, you probably don't have a good gut feeling on the game.
All of the statistical evidence pointed to Collins. As far as fantasy numbers go, him and Bulger are almost a dead heat. Would you want the one going against the 9th rated pass defense or the 32nd ranked defense?
If your gut said Bulger, GREAT call. If your head said Bulger, I question your sanity no matter how it turns out. :) :)

Come on Q, start throwing TDs like mad.......
May be the first time that I have ever rooted for the Cowboys to win anything, although I am swiftly liking the Bucs even less than the old arrogant Dallas Cowpricks.
