Since I've come home, I've slowly tried to get back into OOTP and TCY, my favorite text sim games.
Today, OOTP4 made my day.
Playing as the Cardinals, I'm near the end of April. I'm playing the Expos in Montreal on Sunday. The game goes into extra innings and I'm scrambling a bit putting players into the game.
Isringhausen is unavailable due to injury, but I had quite a few other options available.
In the 10th inning, I (LaRussa) get ejected for arguing a double play. In the bottom of the 10th, 2B Fernando Vina gets hurt on a throw to first. In comes Edgar Renteria to play short and Miguel Cairo moves to second. The inning was over, anyway.
In the 11th, Miguel Cairo is due up, but since I'm ejected, all I can do is hit the #1 key. The PC pinch hits for Cairo, with Fernando Vina.
Huh? I thought he left the game. :)
Vina plates Edgar Renteria, and goes back out to play second base in the second half of the inning.
Cardinals win.
