I think that many of us have known about Maximum Football (http://www.maximum-football.com/) for awhile, but I didn't realize that the release is scheduled for 11/16(next weekend). Or atleast that is what the developer says here in a recent post. (http://maxfb.ipbhost.com/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=547&)

I'm curious if this game will actually "play" or will it be Total Control Football 2? Not to be confused with Total Pro Football by .400 studios.

You mentioned salaries. Does the game have salary and player negotiations?

At this time no. These items are included in the database for future use. However you can use them for on line leagues and create your own applications that use these fields. Currently there are no plans for the first edition of Maximum-Football to include player negotiations. Currently there is no facility for AI controlled player trades or retirements. Those features will be in Maximum-Football 2

I'm assuming from this that there is no or very limited career play. Kinda kills it for me.

Dola- Actually, I kinda have a soft spot in my heart for Total Control Football. Sure the bugs were maddening, but it had potential. And how can any game with Bill Cowher's mug on the box be bad?

But it was too much of a tease for me.

MaxFB....there will be career play. Third party utilities could easily make a salary negotiations. In fact, the games code will be 90% open for 3rd party mod makers. Since following the game they have added Arena Football rules and some other really cool features. The game will be playable with a gamepad but David Winters (dev.) says that it is made to be played in coach mode first and foremost.

Looks like a great game if you are really into coaching, not much there for those of us who are more into career general management type of sims though (at least from what I can see).
