Does this mean you're not grounded any longer? Or is TV in the "grounded" package as well as internet?

Was it just me, or was this a better Simpsons than usual?

Yeah, I did seem to laugh more this time around than I have been lately.

For those who have BRAVO, Inside the Actors Studio has the cast of The Simpsons on tonigh. (I believe it comes on again at 10 mountain time)

I like almost all of the Simpsons episodes, but I didn't really find this one substantially better then any of the other episodes.

My parents are not trying to take my life away here, I'm being grounded from going out and being with peers who can influence me to do things I shouldn't. This isn't grounds for all forms of entertainment, would you like I twiddle my thumbs all day?

Doctor: Sir, you've ingested a dangerous amount of alcohol.

Homer: The only dangerous amount is none.

Shorty,

You should consider yourself VERY lucky. Not sure how it was for anyone else on the board (though I'd guess it would be very similar for my age group) but when I was grounded, it was hell.

No TV. No video games. No going out with friends. A lot of time doing chores. Chores that were created just for me as punishment.

The only thing I was able to do that was enjoyable at all to me was reading. Even that pissed me off, however, because I liked to read when I WANTED to read. I didn't want to read when I was forced.

I can't tell you what I'd have done to have had your type of grounding.

TroyF

PS: Lest you get the wrong idea, I was a "good" kid. I rarely was in trouble and when I was it would be for something that ***I*** didn't feel was that serious. The most serious thing I ever did was say a cuss word to a basketball official. My dad heard. BAD, BAD move on my part.

Ditto Dan and Egales on The Simpsons, ditto Troy on the grounding. If your grounding only means you can't go out with your friends but includes full computer, audio and video rights, it is wussy level of grounding. :)

Please, mom
You ground me all the time
I know that I was right
All along

And I'm hoping
Remember I'm a kid
I know not what I did
Just having fun

You couldn't wait for something new
And yesterday I thought of you
It left me to think as if I couldn't walk away
It's too late, I fell through

Nothing to lose
A boy who went out when he finished all his chores
Nothing to do
They can't trust me because I blew it once before

Shit, dad
Please don't kick my ass
I know I've seen you trashed
At least one time

Can I blame it
On one of my dumb friends
It's been awhile
Since I have used that line

You couldn't wait for something new
And yesterday I thought of you

Yes always a BAD move to let the parents hear a naughty word come out directed at a football official. (Stupid no good refs, wouldn't know pass interferance if it hit them in the eye  ) But one thing I did notice, no one really seems to care if you scream FUCK 50x when you break your arm. ;)

But jeez, shorty, how could you get caught?

Back on topic: I thought this one was pretty funny too. I've seen others I like better (Chad Sexington anyone?), but it was good.

Man, i was one of those "peers who can influence [you] to do things [you] shouldn't." So that just ain't cool, cause i turned out ok....sure, most people think i look like a freak, but i'm a nice guy who contributes to society in a positive way. Do they even know the kids that well? And something tells me you are just as bad an "influence" as they are anyways huh? I know the type, class president and straight A student on the cover seen by adults.....and one of the biggest party guys around, getting stoned at lunch all the time even, to all his friends.

I am a partier but by no means a straight A student, but to my parents I am a good kid who doesn't do anything wrong, who happens to have a XstraightedgeX brother, making things worse for me if I get in trouble.

Heh, on Saturday morning I had a voicemessage, with one of the messages.. "Heh, Shane, man I know you wish you were here... I'm so hamm-oh shit some girl is showin' her titties I got to go."

My dad was the master of inventing chores for punishment. Not a simple "clean the basement", but something like "clean the basement and while you are down there, alphabetize my hunting and fishing magazines, make sure there are no cobwebs in the corners, and fold any laundry that your Mother didn't get to. And when you are done with that, come up and see me. I think it's time to reorganize the toolshed."

This in addition to no TV, no phone, no friends. (This was the dark ages, we didn't have a computer or videogames) Needless to say, I did my best to walk the straight and narrow.

Damn, you do have it easy. Grounding for me meant I was allowed to read, that was it. I didnt like reading much at the time.

And I was always a good kid and grounded for the stupidest things. Once for using an airhorn at an improper time. I was only like 9 and I didnt know what it did. Another time for popping my sisters balloon and pissing her off while in the car and another for saying "I eat quarterbacks for lunch" while playing a video game. Somehow my dad thought there was a cuss word in there. I think because I was so good, they created things to punish me for I guess.

Best animated quote of the day goes to King of the Hill, when Hank tells a Christian rocker:

"You're not making Christianity any better, you're making rock and roll worse."

Amen, brother.

Actually today my mom found out I smoked Marijuna(sp?). What happened was, after school I went over to a friends house to pick up the rest of my stuff. Little did I know that my mom was giving the dog a walk along the street I was driving on. After I got home, my mom called from her cell phone, and asked me what I was doing over there, cause usually I come straight home after school, I told her that I was picking up a book at my friends house. When she came home, she came up to my room and said: "AJ, I saw Huk(friend's name) during my walk, and I asked him what you had picked up at his house and he said you picked up a notebook." I then went in to this whole thing about oh that's what I meant when I said book. She eventually told me to cut the crap and to just tell the truth, so eventually I admitted that I smoke marjiuna. I even had to show her my stash.... She just made sure that I was careful when I use it, and she said she was disapointed in me. Damn I love being 18:D

Then on Friday, I was at a party that one of my friends was having. It was huge, he had two kegs, so there were about 60 people there. I got there at about 9:00 PM, I instantly went down to the basement where the real action was at(there were about 20 people down there all smoking marijuna). At around 9:45 the cops showed up, I'm down in the basement with about an eighth of marijuna on me when someone came downstairs and said that the cops were there... At that moment there was a mad dash to the door, but I didn't go at first(since I didn't have my pipe) I eventually decided to run cause not only did I have stuff on me but I had just gotten a warning for trespassing at another party a couple weeks ago(long story). Amazingly my friend only got a warning as basically the cop said that when he was our age he did the exact same thing. I'm sure there's some deeper lesson that I should've learned from that experience, but basically all I learned is that I shouldn't let other people use my pipe(still haven't gotten it back yet:(), and that I shouldn't go to big parties, in fact, I don't think I'm going to go to parties any more.

Wow I've had an interesting last couple of days:D

tuck, I went to a huge party of no kidding 150 people or more. I thought they were only in movies I swear, it was insane. The mom was bonging beer and said if you wanted to smoke, you better get her so she can have a few hits. Of course, 30 minutes in, the cops had come, and I was off to the races. I have never hopped so many fences in my life. Ran through mud like hell for a half hour. Nothing is scarier than seeing a normal looking car turn on blue and red lights only yards away. But what a story I have from it.

Ahh, being an underage. So fun.
