Please post any custom game plans you'd like to share here. It is probably best to post the game plan, and lead a discussion of it, in the main forum, then post a link to it here. Use the following format in your posts:
Gameplan: Defensive
Creator: Mel Kiper's Hair
Base: 3-4
coverage: bump-n-run
basic description:
Best played with a run-stuffing defense line, this defense rushes most linebackers up the middle. Physical corners are preferred, and a ball-hawking free safety is a must.

<font size=3>Posting Your Gameplan</font>
Since the board crash, we've been informed that we can no longer attach files to our messages here at FOFC. While this is certainly an annoyance to the gameplan community (if such a thing exists yet), we can certainly work around it.
To include a gameplan here, you can either: host it on your own webspace and post a link to it
email it to me at
[email protected] - SkyDog and I will find a place to host it for you
<font size=3>Utilities</font>
Making our lives easier, some incredibly creative FOFC'ers have created game plan utilities. These expand your options a great deal from what FOF2004 offers you. Most useful are the abilities to save just the offensive or defensive aspect of a gameplan, merge two halves of gamplans into one, etc. Take a look at and download the following:

SkyDog (and friends) discover that the computer teams are pretty damn pass-happy. This should probably be considered for defensive game-planning (unless/until it is patched): http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16892
Is it worth it to run behind your best offensive lineman all the time? QuikSand, sabotai, and mckerney investigate: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16212

creator: Mark (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=1013)
base: 4-3
coverage: Cover 2
basic description: Need pass rushers on the defensive line, run stoppers at linebacker, good zone cornerbacks, and balanced safeties. Not much blitzing involved.

So is there a website where we can check out and download custom game plans anywhere? I'd love to download maybe a west coast offense, a run 'n shoot, or a power running game.

we're hoping to assemble some here. we need some submissions!
I'm gonna put together a 4-6 defense soon along with some variations of the 4-3 (i.e. Run Stopper and Baltimore middle stack) along with the popular 4-2-5 used in college.

you're the man!
I'm hoping to throw together my pass-crazy offense that worked so well in FOF2001. Problem is it has been a miserable failure so far in FOF2004.
I'm working on it!:(
Is this idea dead? any other place about gameplans? i'm more interested on discussion and explanations than on downloading already done gameplans.

Yeah i underestand that multiplayer users don't want to share their custom gameplans, i wouldn't post mines also. But i think that would be interesting if somebody with big knowledge about the NLF and also about FOF (like you ;) ) could post some standard gameplans to match the basic ofensive/defensive schemes used by the the nfl teams, and explanations about the kind of players needed for that formation. As FOF gameplans feature is so deep, the players have lots of different rattings, it's not documented enought and not all us have a huge knowledge about football, that could help a lot for us as base to custom our own gameplans based on the basics and build the team around that scheme. This will help a lot the newbies to start to underestand how the gameplans work and which player rattings are the most needed for each position/formation.

Can you get away with just using 1 def game plan? Doesnt it need to be adjusted for the team that youre playing each week? You wouldnt use the same GP against Peyton Manning that youd use against Jerome Bettis, for example.
Ive been using my OGP, but letting the scouts adjust my DGP before each game.

I've actually gotten away with mostly the same defensive gameplan each week, i make very minor tweaks in the defending run percentages, but for the most part my blitz happy package works against any type of team.

Well, I tried to design a run-happy game plan, and my initial attempt has failed miserably. :(
I understand some folks are playing this close to the vest - but if anyone would care to collaborate on this privately, please PM me. I promise not to post any "trade secrets" on the board, and it is unlikely that I will do much multiplayer gaming...

I spend a lot of my time having my coach call the play when it comes to defense. Though, I could swear that someone mentioned in the general discussion thread, that the AI doesn't adhere to defensive gameplans. Is this true...? Or should I start calling my own defensive plays from now on?

I don't think that's true.

I'll confirm. It's not true.
