One thing I noticed, say your starter in old versions was listed as OUT, but you couldn't list him Inactive, so even if he wasn't on the depth chart, that next game he'd get listed as a game played but would not get a start. Well now, my LG got hurt, I just removed him from the guard positions, as he is OUT, and after simming the game 5 he is listed as 4/4 GP/GS. Nice.
Discuss FOF2004 as all threads simply discussing the game aren't around.
Is it me or is this game is just about bug free? I've be playing and havn't ran into any strange bugs yet. But drafting players is a crap shot because after the top 10 players its a dice game.

I agree, Noop. FOF4 had major bugs, but this one looks pretty clean to me. Thanks, Jim! The game rocks!

Neat!
Vinny Jaegro, 16th pick in the first round last year held out the entire season. Next year, looking at the transaction log before FA, it says
Jeagro, Vinny (MGM) RB | will re-enter draft
SWEET

Another cool thing!
I change my rookie punter to a kicker after the thing tells me there will be little-to-no change, and my current kicker sucks. So I do so, and my punter-now-kicker is horrible. Crap, a potentially good to great punter is now a worthless kicker. Misewell try to remake him a punter and cut him with dignity.
So I go to change to punter, and it says he will retain about 93% of his now kicker skill. Well, I make the change. And it seems to remember that this was his old position, as he now looks like the punter of old! Woohoo. As it should be.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but the "textured" background to the windows is a real nice little feature. I know it is just "eye candy", but it does look nice.

Allow me one nit-pick:
The list of cities/towns is still almost 100% US-based. So the game considers it possible to someday see NFL teams in Lawrence, Stockton and Boise City, but not Toronto or Mexico.
The only exception I can see, oddly, is New Brunswick (or is that also a US city?)

There is a New Brunswick in New Jersey. That is where Rutgers is.

That's awesome!

I think it's inevitable that there will be some problems with the release... I have little doubt that there will be some bugs that got through one way or another. But overall, the lack of game-crashers and other really serious problems is reassuring, at least so far.

One thing that really bugged me both in TCY and FOF4 is that it called Boise, ID "Boise City." Is there a state or something that is named Boise so he felt he had to differentiate? The name of the city is simply Boise. There is a county called Boise, but I don't think it would have caused much confusion. Basically, it is like calling the city Portland City instead of just Portland. It's redundant and unneccesary.
Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Yes, I live in Idaho.
