I was just playing with a spreadsheet and trying to make some important decisions for a fantasy football league (completely yardage based). Week 11 is critical, because transactions are limited and now that the bye weeks are over, I want to use my remaining player purchases.

Based on defenses faced the rest of the season, these are my assessments of offenses to select or avoid the rest of the season.

Passing - Positive

1. Tampa Bay (watch out for the Giants in week 12, but otherwise, very, very positive outlook).

2. Kansas City (particularly good outlook the next three weeks).

3. Atlanta (okay, there's no passing game here worth mentioning, but aside from a week 16 matchup with Tampa Bay, it's very smooth sailing).

4. Tennessee (up and down, but the next two weeks and week 16 are against the worst the league has to offer).

5. Jacksonville (again, up and down, but Leftwich might have some fun against Houston in week 14 and Atlanta to finish the season).

6. Carolina (just avoid next week against Dallas).

7. St. Louis (toughest game is week 14 against Cleveland).

Passing - Negative

1. Miami (just a brutal schedule remaining, with the exception of Washington next week).

2. Cincinnati (they get San Diego next week, but otherwise it looks very tough).

3. New York Giants (Tampa Bay, Buffalo and Dallas remain - all among the toughest to pass against).

4. Cleveland (a nice matchup against Arizona this week, but it's all uphill afterward).

5. Washington (a good play the next two weeks, but Ramsay will get killed over the final five).

Rushing - Postive

1. Denver (just a ridiculously good play over the final seven weeks - not a single top-half rushing defense left on the schedule - Portis will put up MVP numbers if healthy).

2. Detroit (if they only had a running back).

3. Chicago (just one tough rushing defense remains - Arizona in week 13 - the last four weeks are against the worst in the league).

4. Kansas City (it's Holmes time, and given the bad pass defenses they face as well, we could very well have a 16-0 team here).

5. Arizona (the next two weeks in particular).

6. St. Louis (after the next couple of week, the Rams face a lot of bad run defenses).

7. Pittsburgh (with the exception of this week and week 17).

8. Minnesota (like Pittsburgh, it's hard to tell who will get the carries).

9. San Diego (a tough week 16 matchup with Pittsbugh is the only impediment to a strong Tomlinson finish).

Rushing - Negative

1. New York Jets (they get a nice matchup with San Diego this week, but afterward, it's just plain ugly).

2. Miami (next week's Washington game is the only bottom-half run defense they face).

3. Washington (three land mines in Miami, Dallas and Philadelphia remain).

4. New England (they face three of the top four rushing defenses, but weeks 12 and 13 look good).

5. San Francisco (only a couple of soft games in weeks 12 and 15, the rest is very tough).

6. New York Giants (consistently tough, with the exception of the Washington game in week 14).
