View Full Version : FOF2K4 - the K episode

So I have an unusual last name, Kugelmass, which gets mangled and misspelled daily. The only place I've seen this name outside my own family is in a surrealistic Woody Allen story "The Kugelmass Episode" in which (i think) a selfish schlump named Kugelmass gets sucked into a copy of Madam Bovary... not too flattering. :-)
So imagine my surprise when, in my first 2K4 dispersal draft with fictional players, there's a linebacker named Kugelmass! I'm thinking, if Jim just used names from the phone book, the chance of a Kugelmass appearing would be unlikely at best... so I figure he must have dumped the names of his customers into the database at some point. Anyone else notice this?
Given that that's as close as anyone in my family will ever and-I-mean-ever come to being a pro football player, I thought it was a nice touch! Made me happy...
...as does the game, which so far seems like the best one since FOF2. Clearly, quality is in the details. Great job, Jim.
Yes, I'm in the database too since I'm a customer - this is a thing Jim has done for some years now. My last name could be even more rare than Kugelmass!

I'm pretty sure Jim has used the customer list in the past, so that's probably the case. Never seen a McManus in the game yet though.

I agree, after simmint my first few seasons, I have the impression that this is definitely the best FOF since FOF2.

jetpunk2000,
Do you by any chance have any relatives from Ohio, Kentucky or W.Virginia. I'm a McManus also.

Haven't seen a Hiscock since FOF2, and never a *Josh* Hiscock, but with fictional rosters in FOF 2004, the starting QB of the Baltimore Ravens is named Gus Hitchcock. That was kinda frightening.

Just go to your league's Career Statistics, sort by name on Misc. stats, and click on the letter of your last name.

Josh, how do you pronounce your last name? Is it Hisk-ock or is it pronounced like I usually read it, His-cock?
Just curious...
Oh, and I've never seen an Eckberg in the game... :(

I've always pronounced it Hiss-cock, but perhaps that's the same as Hisk-ock. At any rate, there's definitely no soft s in there. Those who have tried to pronounce it that way sadly no longer count themselves among the living.

Never seen Sargent and that's a more well known name too.
