Flasch, could you disclose some more details on how you plan to run the league? I am guessing you will not be using the real NFL rosters. Will it be one game/week? Any special house rules? Any balancing for market sizes and economic health (since it appears profitability may impact coach hiring)? Anything else prospective players should know? There is a group of guys in the "Looking to start/join a league" thread who may or may not be interested in joining which could fill out your league nicely.

as of right now we're simply in a planning and organizational spot. Right now it's me and 10 close friends. IF Jim doesnt close the loophole which allows owners to fraudelently upload someone elses files we're going to keep it a closed league as the window would be too large for cheating. Im also reading up on the post on the first sticky under general discussions about order of ops. for running a MP league. Im looking at one gm / wk. as i feel it gives everyone ample amount of time to get their stuff done and keep from getting fired. Cities were originally picked by me with littlw regard to anything other than unique cities and geography. If an owner wants to move to city someday wonderful, as long as it is geographically viable and approved by ownership than cool. Thats some of the fun i think. Im going to sim a TCY league in the background and have that run behind the NCAA logo on our site...I think that will add TONS to the immersion level and fun of the league. Although im still not satisfied with the Weekly schedule. I think that the TCY season is super important to having ownership in your league excited year in and year out but I'm not sure if the TCY exports are as good as generated. Ive read links on both and it seems to be split. We'll see. Ill keep this post updated with whats going on. Remember in any league fluff means alot as if its only FOF type printouts people will get bored. Magazines, stories, etc. are super important.

ALSO I believe it is a must to wait until after the first patch to start anything as more than likely the league will be wiped anyways. Thats been my experience through every FOF generation ive bought (all of them). A must to wait i think, itll give the league plenty of time to get ready and get excited.

Hey Flasch, Saw the web page and it looks awesome. I know you are planning to keep it within a close group of friends, but let me know if there are ever any openings. Great idea. I am an avid fan of both TCY and FOF.

tell you what if people want to post on here their desire to be a part of it and the patch comes out which protects the league from cheating (what i described above where someone could open the league file from any teams perspective and then upload that gamefile as a fraud.) I will for sure open it up to others. just post it on here.

first come firste serve - no prob Johnny - any move would be fine as long as it is geographically reasonable...so that'd be fine. just waiting for at least a TCY import patch. Than we'll really start putting this thing together. We will be doing a live draft for at least 20 rounds on AOLIM at a later date. then scouts will finish it out at that point. using NFL rosters and TCY imports as Ill be running TCY in the background and updating the "NCAA" site.

One nice thing about this league is that the TCY will be run in the background and will be posted under the NCAA link. It will be an incredible universe, the depth will be unmatchable. I am hoping greatly that the loophole will be closed and Ill be able to open this league to the public. I have a job that will let me concentrate a lot of time on keeping this up for a long long time. The magazines and web pages will fill up and will be awesome. the last time we had the USFL with FBPRO it was unmatchable. So keep tacking your names and desired team on here and as soon as jim patches this here thing we'll get it going.

USFL Championship trophy -
The plan is to have a Stanley Cup type trophy. Im going to look into getting a trophy that will be engraved with owners, year, score, MVP. I have to see how much it will cost, if its not too much ill eat the cost. This trophy will be shipped to the champions house where it will remain until the next championship game where the past owner will then send the trophy back to the USFL's main office for engraving. Then shipped out again to the new ownership group. I hope this is just one of the things that sets the USFL apart from the morasse of leagues that will undoubtedly be popping up. Ill need real owner names, not screen names for the teams page. The trophy page link will have banners in it for all achievements. Hopefully another unique thing. Im open to suggestions as well.

Now that a patch has been released we are looking at getting prepared for a kickoff the first week-ish of Jan. This would mean all potential owners must own the game soon (ive put a flex date of 11.29) - (you'd be surprised how many dont own it yet), then the export files must be sent in, then a live draft via AIM for the first 15 rounds, then a roster setup period, free agency bid time, roster reset, and finally first preseason game hopefully...in a month. It'll be tight but i think we can. Still open teams, go to home.comcast.net/~ashmunes/teams and pick yours today.

If you sign up for a team on here please email me as well so that I can email you the cities files. Also add you to the teams page. We are looking at a draft probably third week of December like the 20, a Saturday so let me know if people absolutely cannot make this date. If only a few cant make it then we'll go ahead and have the scout draft that player via preference or they'll be able to turn in a list of players that ill execute manually. If this date is HORRIBLE for a LOT of people than we'll discuss moving it. We also do not ave to have all teams owned prior to starting as I'm sure there will be times when were full and times when we have openings. One thing I can guarantee is that this league will carry on and on and on. Ill expect many photo's to be able to post of super bowl winners with the Ashley Cup in many different locales of their home city.

The league is filling up. Make sure you pick a team before they're all gone. Remember to join this league, unless you know of an alternative, the cities file i email you will change your league(s) universally in regards to cities and nicknames. You will have to swap out the default ones and the USFL ones each time....sux but well worth it IMO.

Jacksonville, Florida -
After much consideration by the marketing comittee of the newly reformed USFL and careful consideration of the inferences and attached symbolism when crowning a Champion with the league's highest honor, The USFL has finally settled on a name for such a prize. The trophy will act much like the NHL's Stanley Cup in that winners names, year, team name, and MVP will be engraved on it. Once the side or ring has been filled the oldest one will be carefuly removed and sent to the Hall of Fame for enshrinement. The team owner will be responsible for holding the trophy until that team is eliminated from eligibility for the next year's tournament at which time the trophy will be remitted back to USFL HQ to be engraved with the newly minted champion. This trophy's name needed to reflect its prestige, longevity, strength, and most importantly success. Thus the USFL will here on out award the Championship Trophy as The Herschel Walker Trophy. Please refer to our website's teams page to see if there are any teams available for potential ownership.
